Hello Bruce,

Sorry, I had not checked the forum in awhile. Not sure why I didn't get emailed on your reply. Anyway, I just sold the boat today.

Happy sailing!

Boat title

Hey guys, It's been awhile since I've been on the forum. Unfortunately, I'm thinking about selling my C-15 Man O War. Got a question for those that have recently bought or sold a smaller, non-motorized vessel, like the C-15. Did you have or receive a title or is it not required for these? I'm in Wis...

I voted, but the Man-o-War is listed as C13 MOW in the poll instead of C15 MOW.

Hope this answers most of your questions. Flotation: a) Where was the original flotation placed? In the bow? In the stern? In the sides? Answer - The spray in foam flotation was in the sides. I do not believe they used closed cell foam, so it eventually got water logged, decayed and worked it's way ...

I used foam flotation noodles in my MOW. About 4 or 5 in each side.

I also have water tight port covers in the bow which prevent water getting in the cavity when capsized.

Nice Job MaRaider. The MOW is very fast and extremely fun when the wind is kicking. It's a good workout too when hiking out to keep it level. I have been on hiatus from the forum (and sailing for that matter) for a couple years, but I have my MOW back on the water and better than ever. So, if you ha...

Welcome aboard Sister Margaret! Capt Scott gave you some good information. I wish I could give you more information about the exact length and size for the main sheet, but my boat is about 4 hours away at the family lake house. Capt Scott is correct that it needs to be quite long. Not only for a sud...

Re: CHRISTMAS LIGHTS! LEST SEE 'EM !!!!

PS: For those that care, we are very slowly converting to LEDs. The cross and the blue light on Lady Jo are all LED. They are pricey so we only replace a few strings each year however the power savings is great! Unfortuantely the blue LED strings are not as long as the old incondecent bulbs so the ...

For the record... The "Manning Bowl" was on Sunday Night and 49ers vs Saints was on Monday night. You guys spend too much time on your boats! :P I agree, the Manning Bowl was disappointing to watch as was most of the 49ers/Saints game. However, the 49ers almost pulled off a big upset in th...

Thanks for the comment. As for cutting formica, first use duct tape over the cut line, next cut just a wee bit large, 1/8" or so. Then finish up with a router (with a guide), if you don't have a router, a belt sander will stand in nicely. Hope you find this helpfull. Jeff Like Alan said. They ...

Yep, Lake George just outside of Rhinelander. My avatar was taken on George.

This lake has three sections and each with their own personality. Wind can be coming hard in one direction and quickly change when you approach another part of the lake.

Re: leak

Thanks for the welcome. Lee, I looked more closely at the hull. The previous owner had painted it with a cheap paint and I am trying to remove it to get to the problem. There are several cracks that appear big enough to allow some water to seep in. Once I get the paint off, I plan to use fiberglass...

The worst thing about it is that each time I went out to my in-law's lake house this year, where I normally sail, the wind has been phenomenal!

If I would have had the boat with me it would probably be dead calm.

Well, I'll just say it was a disappointing summer for me as far as sailing the Man-O-War this year. The general rule is that the boat that has the other on its starboard side must give right away (sail, power, or both). Given the facts, since the sail boat is on the power boats starboard side the power boat must yield right of way. However, if there is a risk of collision then both boats must do w...
