c22 on ebay

The boom was stored below.

The boat sold to a man that lives in Ohio. He is near a small lake, something like about 1 mile wide by 5 miles long. Somewhere near Columbus. He just came and got it last week. He is retired military and he owns some buildings where he stores his toys. He's got 4 ...

hubcaps

Scott,
No they are not. The vette ones have the crossed flags in the center. These are Lincoln hubcaps. http://www.hubcaps.org/lincoln1.html. They came with the trailer when I was given the boat a couple of years ago. It would be a great thing if the hubcaps made it to salt water. Chicago is a long ...

That's my boat. Donated to Boat Angel. My daughter is heading to college this year and I can not afford to keep the boat any longer.

On my C22, single line to a snap shackle connected to the jib/genoa. I use the same sheet for the jib, 130 and 150 genoa.

My sailing club, Sail Chicago, uses the same on the cruising boat but on the fleet of Rhodes 19s, each sail (jib and storm) has a single sheet tied to each sail.

What was the ...

Insurance

When I called my agent this last spring about boat insurance (Illinois Farmers), I was told that my homeowners policy covered the boat even in the water. I checked the policy and it appeared to be covered. I've since
changed insurance so will need to get a new policy now. I am looking at BoatUS.

Alan,
Thanks for the pictures. I was really more interested in how your reefing was set up.

Alan,
The jam cleat for the outhaul on mine is missing.

I have not moved anything. The previous owner did not replace the mainsail, so it might also be original. He owned the boat for 18 years before me. Can you provide some photos of how your reefing system is setup?

How is your outhaul rigged

I am trying to determine how the outhaul on my C22 is supposed to be rigged. I currently have it just as the previous owner had it, but it looks wrong to me. Also there is no means of reefing the main. I am wondering if he sort of combined the two. What do you all think?

These pictures were taken ...

The Garelick instructions were for a sailboat, but as I can see, it is not even close to being deep enough. I don't motor much, and as long as I keep most of the weight in the stern, its not too bad, so I am just going to wait until fall. I spent most of the summer with the boat disabled and am ...

It is 25 inches. According to the Garelick mounting instructions, you take the shaft length and subtract 2. Then you place the mount so that the top of the mount is that distance above the waterline. In the case of the SailPro, that is
23 inches. That is the way I did mime and I am experiencing the ...

Nice pictures and looks like it would be a nice ride. I thought I might have been the only one here that has 2 fair weather hobbies. Some days I don't know which to do, ride or sail. And some days like last Sunday, I did both. Rode from 7-noon, just riding in the country, then from 2pm-9pm, sailed ...

I read online that one of the reasons for needing a 4-stroke bracket was that the 4-stroke outboards were not only heavier but produced more torque. The Garelick is rated to 169lbs and 30hp, which seems like overkill for 59lb 6hp Tohatsu. The Garelick is also pretty hard to use. The springs are very ...

Gus,
It is supposed to come with the high thrust, mine did not, but the dealer caught it before I picked it up and he changed it. There are some cables, really wires, that come with the motor. It also has a 3 gal gas tank and hoses.

My dealer said the that one of the bigger mounts would probably ...

Re: Tohatsu 6HP Sail Pro

Gus,
I bought the Sailpro 6 for my C22. I found a place locally, Southwest Marine Repair in New Lenox, Il after checking the online prices. Online, you can get the Sailpro for $1350. The dealer gave me a price of over $1700. I asked if he could do better since I can get it for $1350 and he came back ...

I sailed with an old salty sailor once in light winds. He left the topping lift on so that there was more bag in the sail and said this helped the performance.

Alanhod,
Great pictures. I've got a line on nearly the exact same Johnson 9.9, long shaft though. My thoughts are this outboard will be a temporary.

In the fall, once I get the boat home, I'll be pulling the inboard motor out so that I can replace the seal that is allowing water into the cylinders ...

Where do you mount your outboard?

My C22 which arrived on my doorstep last year has an OMC power head and sail drive, basically an outboard motor that is inboard. I've been having many problems with the engine and am looking at just adding an outboard. I read many of the postings and it sounds like something like an 8-9.9hp would be ...

Check out my C-22 with an inboard

I was at my sister's this weekend for Thanksgiving and took some pictures of my boat's inboard. Not actually the inboard, it was too cold, windy and snowing so I only took pictures of the saildrive, the controls and
the hatch.

Banshi,
I have the same as you, the 2 holes into the back compartment, where the gas tank is. This is in the floor of the cockpit, right under my feet between the 2 seats/lazerettes. I didn't even think the engine might have be an add-on.

What does your cockpit floor look like?

1975 C22 - The largest leak when it rains, or at least when I simulate rain with my hose, comes from the opening in the floor of the cockpit to the
engine (is there a nautical term for this opening). By the way, this boat has an inboard OMC Zephyr sail drive. The previous owner replaced the opening ...

Hi everybody

New member here. I live in Warrenville, Illinois, sail in Lake Michigan out of Chicago, and just became owner of 75 C-22, my first boat. This was also the first boat that I ever sailed on about 20 years ago. The PO was a workmate of mine who retired. I've been sailing with a club, Sail Chicago, for ...
