C22 Keel Brackets

Yes, we still have some left. We can also send you a link that will show how we did ours (don't use 5200 Fast Cure :) ) if you'd like. There's more information.

You can reply here, send me a private message or send me an e-mail.

Take care,
Trey

Replace cable!!!!

Hey Carl...excellent choice of boats. When the boat is under sail and hits some chop, the keel will move. I truly do not believe rope will last more than a short time under that kind of stress. The elements will eventually corrode the rope anyway. If it breaks with the keel up, it will swing down an...

Encourage oillite bushings

According to my shop, these are bronze sleeves with some kind of oil/lubricant built in. Under friction, the metal will heat and the sleeve becomes almost self-lubricating...nevermind that the originally manufactured parts were oillite bushings. Given that masthead sheaves don't typically run at any...

Masthead Sheaves

On our other sailboat (Oday 28), I removed our masthead when we found more than one was frozen. I pulled it apart and measured the sheaves. I found some replacements by matching all the dimensions and material to offerings available from Shaefermarine.com (click Hardware, then Miscellaneous to find ...

Easy fix on rudder lines

I am assuming you have this boat out of the water if you're working on the rudder lines. There is a small bolt around whose shank the rudder lines run; this is to provide the leverage of moving rudder up and down. I pulled the bolt off and put a series of nylon "spacers" over the shank of ...

Possible issues with C22

First off, congratulations. Y'all are gonna have a blast sailing this thing. Fairly responsive, weather helm readily transmitted through rudder, LOTS of fiberglass (read: bulletproof). I've never heard of anyone broaching or turtling one, though enough of us have tried. A very solid daysailer. The o...

C22 Swing Keel Brackets... Let me know if you want some !!

Good news!! After having had a leaky boat for too long now, I have gotten a set of swing keel brackets made, they are installed, and now I sail with dry feet!! Swing keel brackets and the replacement thereof have been the topic on several bulletin boards and internet lists. I have received emails fr...

All rope halyard vs. Wire-to-rope halyard

I needed to replace my main halyard, and opted for a Sta-Set-X all rope halyard. With the mast down, I got a good look at the sheaves for the main & jib halyard. The "groove" around the sheave looks to be narrow as if intended for a wire to sit in. 1. Am I going to significantly shorte...

Need suggestions on an anchor light...

The top of my C22's mast does not seem to lend itself to the permanent
mounting of an anchor light. I need some suggestions. Pics would
help. Thanks

Mast Heel ... detail

I'm not sure how much detail you can see, but there is a Pirateer owner's manual found at this website: http://chyslersailing.lizards.net

Try there and follow the link to Manuals; you should see Pirateer. I hope you find what you're looking for.

Suggestion for mast gate

My C22 has stops for the boom's gooseneck and for the mainsail. I would think that a small sized bolt with a slightly bent washer (to mimic the curvature of the groove the sail slides up into) on the inside with a couple of washers (also slightly bent) with either a wingnut or regular nut would serv...

Based on your location, this company makes fairly affordable economy trailers. From what I understand, the steel used is painted, not galvanized.

Hope this helps someone.
