When forming them , they used plywood forms. either 8' or 4' When it looks close, I take a pass and count the marks left from the forms. The drawb...

Hayforasail

Hayforasail. I chose this name for my C26. I grow and sell hay in Colorado. This is my mobile advertising sign. Oh did you mention business expense? The logo shows a bail of hay smiling , with a sail on its belly , floating in the water. the phone no. is also on the add, in micro numbers. Mainsheetm...

shoal rudder

My boat has an identical rudder. It is split on the trailing edge from water intrusion into what lookes like plywood. I am taking it off and filling the split with epoxy, then glass cloth around the whole rudder. I too was worried how the boat would respond with the rail down in heavy seas. The prei...

surge brakes

I have a question about the surge brakes on my trailer. When the boat and trailer was first hooked up, the movment on the tounge wasn't easy, now there is about 3" of play that can be moved by hand with the truck disconnected. Should it be that easy to move the tounge to activate the brakes? Th...

mast

Glad it went so smooth. Where were you standing on the boat when you pulled the mast up? Did you have to steady the mast? or did the jibsheets do all the work keeping the mast from swinging to the side? You gave me the confidence for my first mast raising. thanks, Mike

c26 rudder

Thanks for the reply, I just purchased the boat and haven't tried the rudder yot. Not sure what the difference in a retractable and non is as far as holding in a blow. Does the rudder often come up to hit the prop? New cleats help? This rudder is shallower than the keel trunk,so if grounded, it will...

Monty, I was also looking at a SC26. I'm glad for choosing the C26.. they seem like a more seaworthy boat. Good luck with your new boat, hope to keep in touch while sorting out the new challenges.

compair mac 26 to chrysler 26

Thanks for your input. I was meaning a retractable keel macgregor and a swing keel chrysler. I think the crysler would be better for overnights and paooibly more seaworthy. Is the quality of the chyrsler better also? Which one is faster?
