Re: Hurricane Florence
According to a neighbor, my 26 rode out Florence in the water at the dock. We went down the Monday before and I add extra lines and set an anchor way out in the creek. We emptied out our boathouse and took everything over to our house about a mile off the water. We had the Venture 22, an 18 ...

Re: NC Sailors
Just saw your post. I sail on the Bay River in Pamlico County. We are just outside Oriental. My C26 is a project boat I never seem to work on. I sail on a Venture 22. We are down there 5 or so times a year for 3 or 4 weeks at a time. We split our time between Pa, NC, and the Jersey shore where we ...

Re: considering buying this C22
The boat looks good. On the trailer, check the tires for dry rot. Don't take a chance. You can buy tires mounted on galvanized rims for around 80.00 at Wal Mart. Use one of the old ones as a spare. While you're at WM buy LED light kit for about 50.00 and a can of grease to repack the bearings. Check ...

Thought I recognized the color of the water. Then I looked and saw you're in NC. What part? We're on the Bay River just outside Oriental. unfortunately my C26 is in the water but in "project" status. If I walk about 10 more steps past the 26 I get on my Venture 22 that's ready to sail. Guess which ...

EE, I had thought about chains. then I saw the drawing br549 posted and wondered how critical that 24 3/4 dimension is. Do you recall about how far off the toerail the chain is or doesn't that matter? I like the ratchet straps. Did you add a padeye to mast to attach the r straps. If so about how ...

Hi Crew
I'm finally going to try to make time to do some work on my 26. I foolishly thought after retiring I'd have more time to work on some of my projects. I work more now but don't get paid for it. Another factor, 10 feet down the dock from the Chrysler is the fully rigged ready to sail Venture ...

DO you have any thoughts at all of where you would like to start? Depending on that, the ICW could mean a lot of motoring. We are on the Bay River near Oriental. Depending on your comfort level the Pamlico sound can offer a wide range of sailing and destinations. You can sail to Ocrakoke, New Bern ...

I found some of my notes. I have two sources not sure which one I used. My box of leftover is in NC and I'm in Pa. We've had it up for 5 years and its holding up well. Just make sure what you get is UV protected. There is a stretch factor.

Will your bunks support the boat above or below the waterline? If they will be below you might consider forgetting the carpet. The boat will slide better on the plastic decking. You might also cap the 2x8's with decking or UHMW from Mcmaster. I removed the carpet from all my bunk trailers and ...
