Looks really good to me, little bit of work around the edges with a belt sander or router and it should work as good as the original, if not better.

Leaks
The windows are very common culprits as far as leaks go. I also had to re-bed the winches and companionway runners.

Not sure of the square footage but when I did mine I got it done with one gallon and had a bit to spare.

I have always used a shackle for this, but believe I will use Capt. Scott's method from now on. Sounds like a better idea to me.

Keel pin brackets
The originals on mine were steel and rusted out. I am replacing them with stainless. I found a local fabricator that made them for aprox. 300.00

Well, it is not a given that the keel pin brackets will need replacing but the best way to tell off the get is to inspect from inside and out and check out how much corrosion there is. Don't know if it will help but when I removed the rudder from my C 22 I ran into the same problem. The collar was aluminum and the shaft stainless.
