Chrysler 26 parts available

Long story short; Last Spring I finally got the mast up on my C26 and had to follow a new route in the marina to the boat launch ramp. I failed to notice the wires overhead on this different route. The wires won. The boat is insured for $4k, the damage is estimated at $12k. I have parts available in...

Mine broke in the same place. TIGed it up and it works fine. Just be sure to have the block in it o when it warps it'll still fit.

Chrysler 22 for sale, Detroit Metro area

Well, I'm back after several years of (boating) in-activity. I promised myself I wouldn't fool with my C-22 until I got some other projects out of the way. So, I got the C-22 out of storage, sailed it once, and saw a good deal on a C-26 here in Detroit. So, I'm now the owner of 2 boats and I need to...

C22 Masts

Thanks for the response. I figured as much, but I wanted to make sure before I took them out. I have a full set of instructions for the boat (a copy of which I uploaded here several years ago) but I don't have an original wiring diagram. If anyone has a set I'd appreciate a copy. Otherwise, I'll jus...

C22 Masts

My C-22 has been sitting for about 10 years according to the paperwork, so I'm going through everything prior to putting it in the water. When I pulled the mast head off I found the mast packed full of Styrofoam peanuts. Top to bottom. Are these masts filled like this from the factory, or did some P...

Mondays 11/23/2009 Question and boating safety Tip ANSWERED.

Alan, In defense of Navy CPO's I suspect your po had the flag hoist on the starboard spreader in order to fly his club burgee, his "Q" flag, or host country flag from the starboard spreader. He probably flew the US flag from the flagstaff when underway. I do the same, but I don't like it; ...

Question for today:

Number 1, and the (second) number 3.

The starboard spreader is for the flag of the host country (non-USA) AFTER clearing Customs.

Shark69, Your driveway must look sort of like mine. Two Dodge 1 ton pickups, a Chrysler Sebring convertable, an Oldsmobile Cutlass, a 1960 Harley panhead, and a Chrysler C-22. Looks good to me. Why take off the "Made in USA" sticker? There's precious little still made here. Why not let people know it's not Chinese?

Mondays 11/23/2009 Question and boating safety Tip ANSWERED.

Jeff,

Thanks for providing that mnemonic the help folks remember. To get to the compass heading from true, I use the mnemonic:

True = True
Virgins = Variation
Make = Magnetic
Dull = Deviation
Companions = Compass

That gives me the course to steer, fog or not.

Opinions? Keel pendant-stainless cable or synthetic?

Thanks for the informative answer Chrysler20%26. I'm south of you, in Plymouth, MI and I agree, the water is getting cold. But, that's why they make wetsuits. My boat sits on the trailer unless she's sailing so corrosion won't be a problem. But, I'm grateful for the knowledge about the differences b...

Chrysler20%26, Please be SURE you have a good (Real Good, actually) oil scrubber in the air line downstream from the pump. Most compressors pump microscopic oil particles, and the cheapos will pump more. The oil is in tiny, microscopic droplets usually, but will give you pneumonia big time. Also, so...

The C22 mast came as 28' 9" before serial No CBC 33152-xxxx, and 26' 9" after that serial number. All sails, standing, and running rigging was modified at the same time they cut 2' off the mast.
