Water Coming in
Please look at all your through the hull fittings. I would especially look at the gray water drain fitting. On my C22 the fitting exited below the water line and was attached to a closure valve. The valve partially failed allowing lake water to come in and exit through a rubber pipe that was pushed ...

Keel Winch - Don't Panic!
When you push the handle to let it out does the handle and the winch move? If not push a little harder. There is no switch to release so it is based on a clutch in the winch. I was too gentile thinking I might break it. It takes some preasure to release the clutch and lower the cable. Since the winc...

Sailing In Indiana
Good day folks, I am Don. I live in southwest Ohio and sail in southeast Indiana on Brookville Lake. I belong to Brookville Lake Sailing Association (BLSA). Members sail out of Hanna Creek Sailboat Marina, Kent's Harbor Marina or Fairfield Marina and Bouey Field. My wife Linda and I own a 1978 Chrys...

Congrats and comments
Congrats on buying the C22! I bought one this summer and overall very happy with it. Swing keel brackets are the big one, but not too big. Check the condition of the keel cable and make sure it is the right material and condition. Check for hidden rot in the motor mount. Replace if there is any ques...

Single Handing
Another few points: Add something (Rigging tape or tied bungey cord) to prevent the jib hanks from falling into the forestay adjustment hardware and hanging up. This will save you one or more trips to the bow when raising the jib. Add a rope or a combination of rope and bungey around the forward hat...

bimini info
I would also be interested. Does anyone out there have the factory bimini or just the old frame. I may want to buy the frame. But the frame measurements are critcal for placing the bimini correctly on the boat! For my part, I have the bimini mount points on my boat. I will post measurements and pict...

Re: Single-handed sailing
I was unable to take pictures this weekend, but I wanted to get a few items on the board. - Look at: http://www.geocities.com/colosseum/bench/8237/single_handed_rigging.htm - A topping lift is critical to the transition from motor to sail and back - The location to attach the boom to the backstay mu...

Tiller Tamer
I attached the tiller tamer by a clip at each end to the toe rail usually at the last hole.
If you keep the tIller down it works well. Popping it up releaes the tamer quickly.

Don
