I used POR-15 on mine 3years ago, still looks brand new, and I didntt get all the crap outta all the pock marks. There is probably some dirt and rust still trapped, but from what they say, you can actually paint over rust with it.
I did a good deal of prep, but not perfect. Its lovely stuff.

Here is one of mine:
No rivets, screws inward, smooth side out.

I would love to hear from someone if they remove their portlights soon, to see if they are able to "flip" them to put the screws inward.

The topic of Portlights has be done very well here before.
However, during my first fall project, I find myself working on these all but fun "windows".

Clinometers, or "tilt-o-meters" are truly not a nesessity, however, if you have a first-mate, you will most likely be told your craft is heeling far to much for their liking before the clinometer will tell you.

I could not agree more that the 44DS is an amazing craft, however, I feel that the better overall boat is a Beneteau. And yes, I know they are of the same designer/stock, but if you can get inside a few Jenneaus and some Benneteau's and compare them ...

I would add flashlight and batteries.
I am also looking for one of those backup suction cup battery running lights.
I might add foulies. I cannot tell you how many times someone ends up cold or wet even when the weather is perfect. An unhappy crew is a mutinous one!

My father used to flake them diffently and forgo the sailbag.

A question for the ages! The v-berth has long been the land spot for sails due to its lack of use while under way and the ability to grab at them through the fore hatch.

There are many cool storage solutions that I'm sure our sailors will bring up below. My particular favorite is a good cheap ...

I used this stuff and it is great. It was on sale at WM. You will still want some protection and an ablative nature to your paint. The other thing I would say is while u have the keel off, wheel it down and put POR 15 on it then, if u want bottom paint over that to match the hull. Make sure all ...

European starlings fighting for position at the bird feeders.
We put feeders in to drown out the town traffic, which thankfully dies out early and becomes insanely quiet at night.
