At 18-25 mph winds you are in over my pay grade!!!!!! Good goin' sauerleigh!!!
For 5 weeks earlier this summer we had a young man from South Africa staying with us. I took him out once, his first time also, and while it was fun the winds were pretty light, 5 mph or thereabouts.

astrodad is correct with his wire size/amperage. I do it every day for a living.
To calculate total loads just add up your wattage then divide by 12 and you will have the amps at 12 volts. Load your wire and fuse/breaker to no more than 80% of capacity. As an example, if you have a 20 amp. breaker ...

I sail at Stockton and have a slip at the State Park Marina. If you get down there look up the "Shirley Jean", that'll be us! She's a blue Cat-22 and is ...

Japan is washing up on the shores of Washington? Wow....here in the Ozarks things like that cross our mind. The world really isn't that big, is it. Those folks over there have taken a beating.
Just rain here....and rain...and rain. Fortunately for us all the bad stuff has gone either north or south ...

My first sail boat was a Chrysler Buccaneer. What I knew about sailing could have been put in thimble with room left, not that I know much more now. Lots of folks on this site helped a totally ignorant newbie get going. The Bucc is gone, replaced by a bigger boat and a smaller boat, neither of which ...

Wow...I spent the winter in the woods, hunting and cutting firewood, cross country skiing, made a trip to Wisconsin with my two adult sons and skied for 4 days, read about 10 good books, worked on my sports cars, played music in and out of church, tied flys, fished for winter trout, cast bullets ...

It's close to hauling the Shirley Jean to the lake....if I didn't have so many "Momma-do's" for this spring I'd haul her down this weekend. Tip for others...never, ever let your wife put your house on the Home Garden Tour. They've been buggin' her for years to do it and this year Momma acquiesced ...

First time out with my Widgeon I pulled the wrong rope on the centerboard...yup, centerboard UP!!!...couldn't figger out why it seemed I was going the direction I wanted to go but kept sliding farther away from my destination. Felt like a complete dolt when I figgered it out. Boat was a lot more fun ...

I'm pretty new at this game also. The two I use and refer to the most I don't believe I saw listed. They are "The Complete Sailor" by David Seidman and "The Annapolis Book of Seamanship". When I started I was confused by the sheer number of books out there and bought those two on recommendations ...
