Any idea at all what it might mean?

EE, I've used the 2L bottle trick with great success. I make mine a little differently.
1 ~ draw a line around the bottle at the top of the label
2 ~ then peel the label off a clear soda bottle
3~ cut the top 1/3 of the bottle off at the line
3 ~ invert funnel ...

Okay, I have to replace the standing rigging on Believer. I just finished sending estimate requests to the following:

Is there anybody else that you recommend?

I'm not wild about the fixed rudder or the wheel. But I really like their stern rail. I have downloaded and saved all those files. I wonder how the teak planks on the deck and cockpit seats will hold up.

I think that a Chrysler knockdown would be a good way to check on the keel cable, or clean the bottom of the boat. Wow! I had never even thought of it as a way to check on or replace the keel cable. That is one of the chores for this summer, since Believer [/i] spent a great deal of the last 10 ...

I remember seeing somebody do a "knockdown test" once (maybe back when I was interested in MacGregors?) He pulled his main halyard onto the dock and used it to tip his boat sideways until he had it down parallel to the water. Maybe you could do that to retrieve your halyard?

Okay, so since I have to rewire my lights anyway, maybe I should buy a couple bags of peanuts to backfill the mast afterward as flotation? The question arises, will filling the mast with peanuts actually keep it from sinking if it were to fall OB?

Who was it that was showing us their stainless steel mast hinge (either a C-22 or C-26) they made or had fabricated a year or two ago? IIRC, the base was rectangular to match the step. The coolest feature, to me, was the welded on ring that went around the base and allowed a multitude of attachment ...

My friend in VA called the guy. Seller says no sails, no boom, no rigging, no cushions, no porta-pottie, says the back corner of the trailer is bent, it needs tires, and he doubted the trailer would make it all the way to VA. TIFWIW.

I don't see a rudder or a tiller. Not insurmountable, but there's no way this is a "sail-away". Still, I forwarded it to a friend of mine in VA. Spend an afternoon putting in new wheel bearings and drive it home.

Some pages make it nice and easy, you just right-click and then hit save as. But I have found other pages, like this one , that don't seem to allow you to do that. They'll only let you save it as a web page. That's fine, as long as the page stays active. But we're all too familiar with dead links ...

Very nicely done. I have only one suggestion. It would be nice if you re-sized your photos to a 640x480 size before posting. That will stop folks from having to scroll back and forth across the screen to see the whole photo.

Scott, glad to hear your son is ok. As a year-round rider in northern PA and a former MSF instructor I can relate to your dilemma. Sadly, there is no substitute for experience. Although I will say that if someone does go down and get back on, they usually are a better rider (more cautious) for it ...

That is the main hull of the Banque Populaire V trimaran. She's 40 meters long and holds the current Trans-Atlantic record at 3 days, 15 hours, 25 minutes, 48 seconds. That's an average speed of 32.94 knots. She holds a few other records too.

A hull of that size would best be launched from a ship yard. Yeah, but you'd amazed at what you see on the highway. I was on my to the penitentiary, down US15, when I saw a hull coming off of I-80, right there at Exit 210. I mean to tell you, we are right smack dab in the middle of Pennsylvania ...

I can perhaps offer a starting point. My LS-16 has a Chrysler plate on it. The HIN is 218000811, and it's a 1970.
