Free Chrysler Lonestar 16 in Racine, WI

I have been asked by a non-member to post an ad for a free Lonestar 16 with trailer. The boat is located in Racine, WI. Here is his ad that is in Craigslist... 16ft Chrysler sailboat. No sails. No title. Needs complete overhaul or can be stripped for parts/recycling. Trailer included. Call Jason K a...

I removed all the fur in the rear berth area, and removed the tuck-n-roll vinyl everywhere. Is there any reason not to install commercial carpeting on the side walls of the forward berth where the vinyl used to be?

I searched all stores and manufacturers wanting to maximize the cooler space in the forward berth. I found a 70 quart Igloo Marine cooler that fits perfectly except it's a bit too tall. I plan to remove the lid and replace it with a piece of plywood with some rigid foam as someone else mentioned. Ig...

Sad Day

Yesterday there was a '78 O'Day 27SL with fixed keel in very decent shape on CL for FREE!!! Located in Kittery ME, couple w/ baby on the way wanted to avoid storage/hauling fees. Someone grabbed that one up very quickly as it was taken down in a couple of hours.

Not a Chrysler, but it's free!

Found on Craigslist...a 1978 O'Day 27 Fixed keel. Free for the taking. Looks to be in decent condition. Thought I should at least put it out there.

I PM'd Alex who started this thread because he too is in New England. Unfortunately, the C-26 he went to look at was in tough shape...had been on stands for 15 years and the hull was caving in at the pads. I'm not sure he'll be back.

Stove Options

Hi All,

What stoves are people using onboard these days? Are propane camp stoves that use the 16.4 oz disposable tanks OK? Could I install one "permanently" in the C-26? I'm planning to re-hab the galley, and I want to consider all options.

Thanks.

You're really making progress. Must take a lot of elbow grease. Here are pics of that vinyl tuck-'n-roll, and what I am left with after peeling it off. http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z373/ezebear/V-Berth/105.jpg http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z373/ezebear/V-Berth/101.jpg http://i1186.photo...

Any new lighting fixture?

I bought a Moeller "Scepter" 6.6 Gal. (US) tank off from Amazon just three weeks ago for $41.00 delivered. This slightly larger tank fits the stbd. lazaret perfectly. But now kit seems that model isn't available, and the new model is only 6.0 gal and it's a lot more money. It looks to be t...

Removed the Tuck-'n-Roll

Hi All, After removing the white, vertical tuck&rolled vinyl wall-covering in the forward berth, there is a blue vinyl paper that is stuck real well on the fiberglass. If you try to peel it off, you get a tiny sliver of a piece in your hand and that's it! Before I put new covering on the walls, ...

My C-26 doesn't have an anchor well. Where is the next best place to store an anchor? The PO had the anchor rode go through a little pop top cap in the deck, down into the forward berth, where it got rolled up on a hose reel. Am I missing something? Well, Sauerleigh was correct. The bracket had been removed from beneath the fore stay. It also serves to help lock the deck to the hull. What's worse is that it appears that there was (is) a break in the deck itself. In the picture here, you can see a break line that goes from port to starboard, jus...

Sauerleigh, I think you nailed it. Now I gotta get out there and see what is in its place.

I do have a bullet-nosed '77. I never heard it called that before, but since seeing my first one, I've always liked that design.

Thanks, People!

I found this as I was cleaning out more stuff. It looks like a bulkhead bracket but I can't see where it would go. If it is, I hope it's an extra. Thanks in advance. http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z373/ezebear/IMG_0159.jpg http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z373/ezebear/IMG_0157.jpg [/img]

Thanks, EE.

I can understand what you mean by "sneak up on it". I may try attaching a few blocks to the hull sides with epoxy, and laying the plywood on that. Would you recommend a thicker plywood than original?
