Re: Water Issues
I have a 26, fixed keel. when I put her back in the water last year, it only took 30 minutes to fill the bildge. I quickly found the leak at the base of the hose that isolates the rudder shaft from the aft berth. Temporarily used a caulking and fabric with Zip ties to seal up. Then when returned to ...

Re: New to me C26
When I first launched the boat in 2008, I tried to set up the mast by myself, with no bridle. I got the head about 10 feet up before it began going sideways. About 30 feet and 100lbs, it was too much to stop. I tore all 6 screws and the base out of the cabin top. I sat down and almost cried. I put t...

Re: New to me C26
Bought a C26 Corsair (Fixed Keel) in 2008 from Ed in Yankton SD, and trailored it back to the Puget Sound (1500 miles). First time pulling a trailer. After a few hours and checks I stopped worrying. I really enjoy this boat. Previously sailed in a Catalina 27 and a J30. Both are nice boats, but this...

Re: Cold and SNOW! Puget Sound!
I've been keeping an electric forced air heater on a thermostat in the Chrysler 26. I only set it to 45deg but it does cost in electricity. The interior is dry and free of moisture or mold. I do remove all cushions, sails and lines and put them in the house for the winter. The boat is on a trailer n...

Re: What bodies of water do you sail?
Sorry, I lost my link to this page. Rick, I have about 200ft of 1/2 inch Nylon anchor line, with 30ft of 3/8 inch chain. I use about a 10lb or a 15lb Danforth anchor. Using an additional smaller line, I run a weight, 5lbs, (part of a mushroom anchor) down the anchor line 10 to 20 feet to improve my ...

Re: What bodies of water do you sail?
The San Juan Islands and the Gulf Islands are kind of a big area. I've sailed there on "Pneuma" just a few times. A real sailors paradise! To be honest, I sail mostly between May and September. I've sailed the San Juans in January. It felt like I had the place to myself.

Re: What bodies of water do you sail?
Hope I'm not jumping in too late. I launch a Chrysler 26 at Coulon beach park on the south end of lake Washington, in Renton, Washington. I do a lot of lake sailing, but love to go out the Seattle ship canal into the Puget sound. If i sail the San Juans or Gulf Islands I often Trailer the boat to An...
