Excellent, thanks again for the info. If I can get some time to finish figuring the rigging out tonight, I'll get her in the lake tomorrow, hopefully get a pic or two.

So to be clear, those two little holes should be plugged? I heard others say just plug all those self-bailing drains and bring along a big sponge. What of the large black circular rubber thing on the back wall of the cockpit? I looked over the manual for this boat from your site, but it's really har...

Cockpit drain on 13' Pirateer

I see two drain holes in the back of my cockpit, at first I thought the plugs were mising from these drain holes and was going to find some cork or rubber to seal them, but now I'm wondering if the holes are supposed to be open and then you pull the transom plug to drain the cockpit? So does anyone ...

I'll fix the profile thing, good call. I'm in Cadillac Michigan, little town about 90 mi north of Grand Rapids. We have some pretty little lakes up here, not to mention the Great Lakes themselves. But with this boat I'm thinking I'll stay out of the big lakes. Thanks for the offer to help, but I fig...

Thanks Scott. I already printed out the manual for this boat, from your site, so thanks for that too! In looking her over, there is no place to put a water ballast, and the boat is just too small to have anything like that, it only has a 550 lbs weight limit as is, so putting water in for ballast se...

Newbie here - Pirateer 13

Just purchased a pretty little boat, a Pirateer 13 ft daysailer. Trying to figure out riggin, etc in the back yard, already seeing I need to "make" time for boating. Elsewhere siomebody brought up using a water ballast for this boat, but to me that seem doubtful. Anyone heard of this? I'm ...

Water ballast?

I just bought a Pirateer, like yesterday. IN trying to figure out the rigging, I came across this forum, awesome is the web right? This is the first I've heard of water ballast for the Pirateer, how would you go about doing it?
