C22 Ruddder Issue
Hi Folks, Well I sold Da Boat, but have returned as alas the new owner some how in high wind lost helm. I went and took a look yesterday. The tiller moves freely, too freely now. It seems to somehow be moving the rudder but kind of like a car clutch that needs to be replaced. Movement is intermitten...

Bon Voyage
Well time to say goodbye as DA BOAT C22 has a new young woman owner. I am moving on to a Catalina 25 as the C22 is just a little small for a 6' 240lb guy and crew. It's been a good run and I have appreciated all the advice over the past couple years from the group. Have a great Christmas everyone! D...

C22 Interior Cushions
Hi all, Hope all is well. I am about to recover DA BOAT's interior cushions as the poor old original material is falling apart from age. I am sure a few of us have gone through this process and I am looking to: 1. Find out how many yards of material would be used (ballpark) 2. Find out if any of the...

Rusty Keel
Not a problem. My Keel though a fresh water boat was extremely rusty. Solutions: WIRE brush - GET A GOOD one with nice handle. Buy a few breathing masks and goggles and have at it. A LOT of junk will come off. After that I applied a "stop rust" spray can primer. One can should be enough fo...

Thank you guys
Well with the tip on using the flat head screw driver on the pahl and the mechanical skills of my partner on "Da Boat" we were able to solve the problem! The keel raises and lowers perfect. We took "Da Boat" out on Tampa Bay. Winds W 5-10 kts, sailed like a dream. Only touch need...

Hmm
Well that is what I expected to be able to do but, I can move towards up ( a little as it was just on a trailer) but not down. I expected the down to be simple based on Keel weight. Rubber Mallet time? :/

22 Swing Keel Lowering
I must be missing the trick to lower the keel. I know it has some type of self ratcheting up. I recently launched and it doesn't seem to want to lower down. Thanks!

I have a RED and White flag that has C22 embroidered on both sides that came with my '76 C22 boat along with Box matches from the late 70's. I would be pretty hard pressed to believe this was not an OEM flag.

Something fishy, sorry, being in Florida I have seen many a "deal" with Florida sellers that seemed better then it was. I would be concerned with Title registration at a minimum. Doesn't MS imply a Mississippi registration?

Excellent
Thanks everyone. So not being an EE, I have two white and one red wires going into that little switch box inside the lazzarette. Would connecting red to each white cause the forward and aft lights to come on if the bulbs are good for testing purposes? Or would I blow my battery up instead? LOL

C22 Mast Raising
This may be a dumb question, but does anyone have feedback on the success or failure of raising the mast using a couple or three folks without all the Gin pole procedures? As my upper an lower shrouds are attached I would hope this is an option. I am now finding a semi crushed opening in the mast wh...

C22 Question on Bridals for Mast raising
Hi all, I know the bridals attach to hole 23 and 32 of the toe rail. Does anyone have a suggested length for these as I have to make them? Would rope suffice as far as load bearing since they are really guiding the mast to stay straight? Any other suggestions are welcome from those who have gone thr...
