Hey thanks everyone. Will measure once I get to boat. @ 30' mast is what I needed to hear :)

Doing some rough rigging calculations as well.

C26 - Height of Mast

Does anyone know the C26 Mast Height? Also is there a spec for height off the water (e.g. helpful to know when passing under a bridge).

For some reason the oracle of google has let me down on this one :)

Happy sailing,

For removing and trying to make rust inert I've used Ospho before with great success [like cleaning a truck bed before lining it].

Since it's aluminum you probably don't need to worry about it rusting more though; so maybe some ospho and then just anti corrosion hardware to cover?

You could also ...

Great, thanks for all the tips! There's a goldmine in that post.

The forward facing light near the top is a steaming light

Right now she has a single light at the top. Will wire to your spec. That steaming light is sure going to come in handy while I blindly dodge the giant root balls and logs ...

EE,

Right on! That is funny. I never have thought of a bolt as a shearing woodruff key ;) Will send a photo... but what do you think about trying to 3D print one out of a teflon like material? Are they plastic/PVC?

Roger that. Thanks for the photo. The boat steers OK, especially while under power. It's likely me being sensitive to the maintenance performed.

Do you suggest I find the inner piece that cramps on the shaft, or live w/ the improvision? Next time I get to some clean water I'll dive in and ensure ...

Masthead maintenance - recommended fixes/addons?

Ahoy!

My jibsheet sheave jammed and I think it is time to drop the mast on my C26 for some much needed maintenance. While it is down I am thinking of:

1. Replacing Halyards - They are worn now and I plan to replace with XLE from Cajun Ropes. Does anyone have a suggested diameter and length? I do ...

Hey thanks and glad to be here!

EE, Yes that makes sense. I'm completely missing the inner part that fits between cheeks and steering tube, and the PO improvised by passing a bolt through a hole in the steering tube and snugging it up with washers. I'll take some photos and post; perhaps my ...

C26 Rudder ?; strange steering after reataching tiller

Hello and happy to be on these boards! This winter I bought a C26 on Old Hickory Lake, TN. It has been a blast and I've been sailing her whenever the winds and I align -- often. FWIW; I'd describe the boat as in almost fair condition. No name, no trailer, no bow pulpit, leaky ports, worrisome toe ...
