I was impressed with the simplicity of the swing board arrangement: Simple direct connection, no cables to break and few moving parts. It hinges on a cast aluminum block that is bolted to the fiber glass of the gunwhales.

I have a 1969 in fair shape. The rigging and sails are in good shape, though I had to make a new starboard shroud and repair a cam cleat. Mine sat out in the weather for years without a cover. The guy had left the stern drain plug open but leaves clogged it and it must have had some standing water i...

I have a complete 1969 LS 16 with original rigging (or at least it looks what is shown in the diagrams on the manual I found on here). I have photos of everything. The side stays (port and starboard shrouds) are attached to the deck with a an adjustable bracket that has about 8 holes that a clevis t...

Remounting the Mast Base: How thick is the hull of a LS16?

My mast mounting base (the step plate) came loose on my Lone Star 16 dinghy. It is a bit of a blessing as I plan to use the opportunity to install a mast hinge under the step. The old screws were steel and rusted nearly clean through. They looked like they might have been short wood screws. I don't ...

Booomvang configuration on Lone Star 16

I just bought an old Lone Star 16 and it is missing a few minor parts. The previous owner showed me how to set up the fixed rigging but he had a few things in error in the sailing rigging. I figured out that the main sheet is intended to originate at a deadend eye strap on the boom, run through a po...

New Lone Star 16 owner needs manual

I'm a new Lone Star 16 owner and looking to find copies of all the original documentation that came with the boat. It is a 1969 model.

Thanks, Bill
