Astrorad, I'm sorry to hear you will not be making suggestions for repairs or modifications in the future. Even though I am new to the forum I have read back through your many posts and found much useful information. I also appreciate your willingness to jump in to help with solutions to others prob...

Kenr74, I agree with you 100% the rudder should never be prevented from working when the boat is in the water. I had to assemble and install all the standing and running rigging as the PO had only used the boat as a run about on lake Washington. Since I knew he had been using the out board I only ch...

Rudder modification

Where is every body? When I finally got to do some sailing on the 26 I had such a hard time getting the rudder down I decided it needed some help. I know that rigging it properly with rollers on small dia bolts on the cheeks will make a huge difference but the floating aspect bothers me. If anything...

Notes from a newbie to the chrysler crowd, hauling , rigging

The Good - Raising the mast single handed even with a side wind was easy and simple. I replaced the boom with a 1" dia 10'length of electricle conduit which allows me to store the sail on the boom. I flattened the last 2" of the conduit and drilled a hole in it then used a 5/16" shack...

Mast gate and turning blocks

I've just returned to CO from Sequim where I finally was able to sail the 26. I have an extra gate that I will make available when I get back to Sequim but it will be several months a least. If someone wants it email me and it goes to the first request. I love having a gate since as previously menti...

First splash

Finally put the 26 in at John Wayne marina Sequim WA. The boats been ready for a week but family matters prevented an earlier date. All went fine except for the rudder down haul. The PO had the rudder rope in a loop but led it through a clutch with no slack, it was nearly impossible to get down even...

getting ready

I've been in Sequim, WA for a week now getting the boat ready for a first sail. The. po bought a replacement mast with rigging but never raised it. What a chore, all the shrouds were coiled in the lazaret and had to be sorted out, a trip to port townsend to replace two missing turnbuckles and starti...

Kenr74 ,
Thanks for the insight. I may try the slugs on one sail but have purchased a roller ready sail off ebay, I decided the cost of the slugs may not be worth it if a decent altered sail could be purchased economically.

I,ve been watching the weather on line and it looks like it will great sailing if it holds. I have question about roller furlers. I recently purchased a used cdi 1 furler on line...
