Re: Mast Crutch instalation

Here's what I do. I bought a 10' 2x6 and attached a roller to the top of it so the mast rides on it. My C22 has a transom mount on it. I leave off the outboard, take the 2x6 and strap it to the transom mount and ensure the bottom is firmly in contact with the pavement. The setup is rock solid. Then ...

Something bothers me about this marina. Who gave them permission to drill a hole in the boat? I don't care if it's easier, who's going to pay for the repair to the boat caused by their policy? Personally, if at all possible, I'd find another marina because that's just not right. I can't say much abo...

Re: Ready!

All ready to go as soon as I get (make) some time. Did a mast stepping test last week in 30 mph wind gusts which made it interesting to say the least. Thank you all for all the great information available on this site. [/img] I didn't think to comment on this until now. I took mine down last weeken...

Log Book Software

I'm thinking about writing software to log sailing info for my usage. If you had your dream software for that purpose, what would you want it to do? Right now I'm just doing this to keep my programming from rusting too much, not to sell it. If I got it done, I'd give the software to whoever wanted t...

Missed it by that much...

OK, I can't tell you any stories about my Chrysler 22 because I got it too late in the year to sail, but I'll tell you a short one about my Pirateer 13. I took it out for a nice day at the local lake, I needed some relaxation because of the hectic schedule I've had. So, not wanting to get wet I had ...

I discovered it is a 1/4 X 28 pin. The 1/4 turnbuckles I ordered turned out to have metric pins. Go figure...

A trip to Westlakes hardware with an old, and new, turnbuckle proved my new one was metric.

Turnbuckle sizes

I'm in need of a few turnbuckles to replace mine. On the side of the body it says 1/4. I've ordered some turnbuckles and they're too small, or too big. What size is the OEM turnbuckle? Where could I find some?
