I have the Chrysler 22 in storage in Hampstead, NC, and apparently it made it through the storm just fine (according to the boatyard at least). I'm curious to go down and take a look to be honest, but I think everything still closed down there.

Maybe is a sign from Poseidon?

I had a better system using a 12x6, a winch, some ratchet straps, and a block. I'll have to diagram it sometime. I'm planning in setting up the same system to raise and lower the Compac 23 mast.

FYI The Pirates Sail is September 28, 29 & 30.

(Agree on the outboard, I'd flip it over to the correct side a while and pull the plug before starting to be sure no oil is in the head)

Hello! Welcome. Capt Scott is right. The boat weights about 3,000 pounds, plus all the gear. Solid boat all around. I used to tow it with a 2004 V6 Tundra.

I had the pleasure of sailing the C-30 of Bob's (Little River Sc.) and can tell you its one of the better 30' sailboats I've been on. Very well thought out boat.

15K is a bit too much. I went to see a 1980 S2 8.5 (28 footer) yesterday, and the boat only needed a good cleaning. With a new diesel engine, all the electronics, etc, etc, the owner is asking 6K.

That's the way I'm going. I couldn't find it locally, so I guess I have to get it online.

So this begs a question. Those users who bed portlights in 5200 burn in hell as do those who use sillycone and there arent enough kids in the neighborhood to chew the amount of gum I would require to bed 6 ...

I already went through that when I bought the boat. Removing the toe rails and removing all the silicone was a very frustrating job.

Well, I just spent the day removing 5200 that was used to seal all the portholes, all 4 of them.

One thing I forgot to mention, and this is by far in the 'top ten' list: a 1960's depth finder, in working condition! When the owner told me he was still using the original, vacuum tubes depth, I couldn't believe it, then he turns to show me that in fact, it is working :)

It is also a bit scary the whole maintenance thing. Compared to the C-22,
everything is BIGGER. I was impressed with the construction of the boat, very solid, and having a almost new (2008) diesel engine it is a good selling point (I told the owner that).

If you have the original galley like mine had, I had a listing to starboard. I added a battery to the port side, but that wasn't enough, so I took the galley out :D

I think two batteries might be a bit of weight to consider, so I might put them as amidships as I could, maybe behind the bulkhead ...

I don't know, I do know the deck of the C-22 is honeycomb (like cardboard with epoxy). They did use plywood where they installed the hardware on deck, I know because I had to cut and replace mine in the lifeline stanchions.

The deck is laminated, but the hull is solid glass as far as I know
