I bought some line from Bargain Watersports on ebay and it had a lot of unusable areas, the inner core had pulled out. I bought 300ft for my sailing club. I would mention that you want to be sure 100% of the line will be good so you don't get bad line like I did. Also, it's not quite the same qualit...

What a great story, congratulations!!! This site is a wealth of knowledge and information, be sure to ask away and contact me personally if you wish. I was offered a boat for free, but when I went to look at it down at the dock, it was 1/2 full of water, the starboard window was broken, etc etc. Bum...

I have had good luck on ebay. Here is the link to the chrysler manual showing the dimensions of the luff etc. http://www.fortunecity.com/marina/cayecalm/3/c22_manual14.gif Just be sure the person you are buying from knows how to measure correctly. If you want to save money, it doesn't have to be the...

Nothing's wrong, I just have one too many boats, and am actually being given another one next week. Selling my C22 will also help finance the 1974 VW Thing I am buying. (Can't have too many VW's) The Vinatge III is a good solid boat, I had a ton of fun last summer and took her to Lake Union twice fo...

Sell whole or part out?
How is everyone doing finding what they need for their boats? I have a 76 C22 I was going to sell, but I am a perfectionist and can't help but feel I want to fix everything before I sell her. If I don't fix anything I'd take a lower price, say $1000. If I were to take a lower price, wouldn't I make ...

1977 C22 Fixed Keel For Sale
$5000 obo Comes with a new Honda 8hp 4 stroke with about 12hrs, just had it's 10-20hr service done. The boat has been rigged for single handing and racins with 2 sets of T tracks for the jib. This boat is NICE! I say that comparing it to my other C22. The non skid is original, unpainted and in excel...

Owners Manual copies
I know everyone relied on that geocities link. I had downloaded each page at my old job but my coworker deleted all the info before I could save it. It also didn't print out too well.
May I make a suggestion that you copy your manual and sell it to those of us who are interested?
Thanks,
Susan

How to convert??
The drawings on the links are helpful. I still can't figure out how the lines raise and lower the rudder. Do the lines stay taut to keep it up and down. Where do they run? What are your swing rudders made of? Mine is fiberglass and floats. Mine also does not have the notch out. If anyone has or coul...

Model for a swing rudder anyone?
I just bought a trailer for my swing keel boat. However the boat does not have a swing rudder. We haven't tried trailering it yet, the rudder may clear the ground. If it doesn't clear, could anyone suggest how to make a swing rudder, or convert mine? I know from the last time I took the boat out tha...

Watertank placement
I just removed a water tank from my second C22 which I simply call, the auction boat. The 5 gal tank was in the compartment aft of the dining table. The installer cut a filling hole on the forward side of that compartment. It was a flip lid half bowl, I've thrown that away. There also was an electri...

Going up went well
I'm not sure if my bruises are worth the $70 I saved not buying a bosun's chair, but I made it up and down pretty easily. I saved the masthead rig my friend tied up for me just in case. In reply to the wire halyard length, they are very short. The main only comes to about 5 feet off the deck. The ji...

Climbing the Mast
Has anyone gone up their mast, or sent the lightest member of their family up? I let go of the *&^%$#@ halyard again.... and this was after I rigged up some shock cords so I wouldn't let it go. I am NOT stepping that mast again. How far down do your halyards come? Mine only come down to a attach...

Transom weight rating/ new motor mount
I was thinking of getting a new motor for the Vintage III. My first mate, Chris, said that we can probably get a much higher HP motor due to the fact that when these boats were built the motors were a lot heavier compared to higher HP motors today. The manual says 10hp is the largest size that shoul...

Glad yours went better than mine
My boss came to help me raise the mast after I got my new stainless steel mast foot mounted. We had the jib halyard run through a cleat with a knot at the end. We couldn't figure out why the mast wouldn't go up any further....luckily our nextdoor boat neighbor saw it. We actually did it without the ...

Thanks for your help
I ended up finding a place that is fabricating it out of stainless steel for $80. It's going to take a week to get the part, so it looks like I'll be working in the yard this weekend instead of sailing. Oh well. Thanks for your help everyone!

Help I broke my mast step
Lesson learned; if you are too tired and you can wait until tomorrow, wait.
I brought the mast down not parallel and snapped the hook part of the mast step.
Does anyone know where I can get a new step? Or who the mast maker is for the C22?
What a bummer!

My C22 interior is gelcoat too. What profile are the halogen lights you are thinking of? I picked up a couple of 110AC lights at Lowe's that I really like. They have 2 brightnesses and the lens swivels to aim straight down or 90 degrees to the front. For my DC lights I went with the brass finish, ro...

What goes where?
I bought the "Vintage III" a few weeks ago. Like some other posts I've read, a lot of things were disassembled. Where did the electrical control panel mount? What is supposed to be over the hole just forward of the mast on the deck? How many cushions are there and what is the placement? Do...

Hi, my name is Susan, I just bought my C22 last Thursday. She's at the Brownsville marina. I belong to the Peninsula sailing club and saw her for sale down at the marina. It's not definite but I think I'll name her the "Vintage III". My family had an O'day about 25 years ago, and that was ...
