Skipper Dan, sounds do-able. Not moving very far outboard from the stock position when you think about it.
And thats how my Compac 23 is configured. The chain plates from a CP27 might actually work and and arent very pricey. Hey, include me in the Gulf Coast plans if you are in my area!

Re: Battery Test Meter Wiring
Former broadcast technician here, it is hard to say 'positively' (LOL), but looking at the front and back pics I would say - the red wire that goes to the red test pinhole on the front goes to the center position of the switch, as does that black wire that is connected to the test meter. A wire (fus...

Re: C22 Window Question
Also if you are re-using the original frames (assuming the C22 is the same as the C26), go slow removing the outer frame; they bend easily and are hard to get back exactly flat. I found on EE's it was best to use as wide a putty knife/tool as you could to spread the load along the edges..

Re: Chrysler 26 eBay listing and some interesting structural information
its listed as a 79, but the bullet foredeck looks to be a 77 or 78 model. Still a nice boat tho.
I found several areas on EE's cabin top that were honeycomb as well, around the portlights, and the area in front of the forehatch for sure.

Gus, you and I may be the only 2 people on the planet with both a Chrysler and a ComPac !
(Agree on the outboard, I'd flip it over to the correct side a while and pull the plug before starting to be sure no oil is in the head)

Sorry, just saw this post
Go to idasailor.com
Click on 'Search Product Catalog" at the left and enter 'Chrysler' in the search box. Should turn up the bushings at a cost of $39. Also other rudder/tiller related parts.

Re: How to measure a bimini for backstays
No, sorry, was maybe 1/2" tho since that's all I see at the blue home store web site and that's where they came from - I'd say get as big as you can - leaves you room for error and if you center the backstay in them you won't have any chafe of either the stay or the grommets.

Re: How to measure a bimini for backstays
Not sure how far forward the mast would go before something stopped it, and I wouldn't want to find out ! I did use a halyard as a backup, then loosened the backstay enough to take one side of the split off, put the bimini in place at an angle, work that one side thru, hook it back up, then remove t...

Re: How to measure a bimini for backstays
Mine is probably one of those broken links, it had a lovely color diagram too; I just measured how high the bimini would be once mounted by assembling the bimini, standing it up, etc (for an example say it will just touch the boom lower edge) , and also measure what is the relation of the leading ed...

Re: Suddenly, My Pop-up Top Won't Sit Properly in It's Track, And the Companionway Boards Are Too Tight to Fit
Bob makes a good point if the boat is in the water as he asks ! I never thought about the C22 winch just hanging from the companionway, and if there are teak foot grip strips there you have lots of potential leaks into the sole there. My old boat was creaky there for that reason. (as far as board fi...

Re: Suddenly, My Pop-up Top Won't Sit Properly in It's Track, And the Companionway Boards Are Too Tight to Fit
I'm going to suggest the boards fitting too tightly are their own separate issue from either the water or the popup drop. EE's boards took spells of either cupping or expanding during hot humid summer weather. Cupping caused them to not fit in the track slots, and expanding of course meant they woul...

Re: Where should I mount my new MFD (Chartplotter)?
I have a 54DV on the Compac, and I couldn't decide where to put it either. Thought about mounting it inside the cabin on a swivel arm/bracket that swung it out into the cockpit, but didn't see any I liked. Or was willing to pay for.. As a temporary setup I used my top companionway board as a pattern...

Re: hook in mast heel casting missing
If its anything like the other Chrysler its a cast piece, both base and hook. And they are a bit brittle and lightweight considering the size of the mast of the C26..Was just looking at a pic of it in the manual just to the left of the passage you mention and that's what it looks like as well. If th...

Re: Gas tank question
Stern Locker was where I put EE's 6 gallon Attwood tank. It does fit in there, but you may find you need to tuck one back corner one first, then the rest of the tank follows ok. I put it there because I could think of other uses for the one on the port side, but couldn't think of any other use for t...

Great link and info.. At the cost of a Signet replacement tho, I would start fresh with more up to date equipment. But if you bought the Signet Depth Meter I'd think you'd want the transducer too. Looking at the diagram nothing seems to be missing. There is a bolt and sleeve around it inside the tube/cheeks where the tube meets the cheek - that's what the rudder up pull line goes around. Perhaps that's it. Or its that Rudder stop kit that's also not shown In case you haven't seen in there are...

I had the same issue with the 2007 Tohatsu 6hp with 27 inch shaft. However in my case a complete carb tear down and cleaning cured it. Starts with choke out first time, but you can push it right back in soon as it starts. (Scott, like you did with yours, I added remote controls recently - the outboa...
