we got it..!!

Well..we tried the ladder idea first. Used Tie Down Straps to lash the ladder to the mast.. I went up about 16 feet and chickened out, That was not for me.. especially since we were still at the dock. We brought the mast down using a Tie down strap wrapped around the mast. Since the jib halyard was ...

Help..me recover my jib halyard

Yes...the cardinal rule for sailors...don't let your halyard snap, end up at the top of the mast.. It happened yesterday first time out this year. Had it snapped in, ( I thought) Any ideas besides bringing the mast down?? Not sure if I want to climb it. Also changed the name of our boat to "FOR...

When I say LOOK Up I mean to the Heavens and for Hazards.. the breavity of what had happened didn't hit till later last night. We were out on a great sailing day on our local lake. Went around an island to the leeward side to anchor for some lunch. I was on the deck and had just lowered the jib, my ...

My Mechanic here in Ohio says to unhook the fuel run all the gas out of the engine when you are done for the day.. With the ethanol gas it will just gum up and rot out the carb. Then we have costly repairs. Also do an additive to the tank as well

I just read a post from the Marina I belong to in NC.
The reason for the fire was Faulty Shore Power Connection.
If you have your Shore power is hooked up, with all this crazy weather, you should check the connections. Maybe check your tilt switch on the boat heater too!

To Scott,
It usually isnt this cold this early nor this long. brrr. Weathermen are saying this jet stream has a good chance of staying like this all winter.
This could be a long gray winter for us Ohioians. Not going to get much work done on the boat if it stays like this.
