I know you folks up north are still in winter. However, the weather here in Dallas, TX is just cruel. This week it was in the 70s and 80s. For the weekend we are looking at highs in the 50s. We have been on this seven day cycle for weeks.

If water collects there could some anti-freeze be put in to prevent freezing and then pulled out in the spring with a wet/dry vacuum?

I bought a Singer 401 Slant O Matic on Ebay for $241, including shipping. I got it to make a cover for my boat.

I got some Sunbrella end pieces to make a tarp to cover my boat.

The prior owner replaced the OEM hatch covers with ones made from 3/8 aluminum frame and lexan. They let in plenty of light.

The prior owner made the change. He was an artist and a welder. Attaching the rudder to the stern is not hard with Rudder Gudgeons. I had the transom reinforced. The rudder head is a challenge. I use a self inflating model with a D ring for a life line.

I have a wire loop I put over the handle. This prevents the handle from freewheeling, even if the clutch were to fail.

I don't have the bulkhead you have there in front of the shoes. Someone removed it. Gives me a place to put boat hook and whisker poles. However, I think I need something to help support the bridge deck.

I have thought about adding a step also. However I want to place it so it bridges the gap at the top. Also I am going to drill a hole for a pin so the step will stay in place, but can be removed.

I was wondering why you placed the step wher you did.

Well I just guessed. I measured the width of the cockpit to where I wanted to place the pivotes. Then the height of the boom, and I allowed for clearance. Then I got the length for the two bow cover.

When I go out to the boat I will measure the height and width.

It was reasonably price and I gave them the measurements I wanted.

I created the lines for the mast raising system set out in the manuel. The pin to connect the boom to the bottom of the mast is 5/8 x 3" and is available in trailer parts at Boater's World and probable at other places that carry trailer parts.

I have UHMW strips to use, weather resistant, low friction, and high impact resistance. I have it wide enough to go under the teak rails and be held by the screws that attach the rails. Also I have neoprene to go under it to provide a water seal, since I belive adheasives won't stick to this stuff. ...

Do you mean the main hatch over the cabin?
