Well, long day at the boat yard, I had to cut it short thanks to Sandy. Most of the exterior is clean. Amazing how fast our boats will clean up! I used Walmart's cleaner with bleach, and I worked most of the deck with green pads. Hopefully tomorrow I can tackle the interior! I need a new tiller, and...

Hi, welcome!

I'm in the process of cleaning my boat. I had good results with Walmart's regular cleaner with bleach (it comes in a sprayer bottle), a hard brush, and green pads (they are all in the same section).

Good luck!

Round one is over Got all the stuff OUT of the boat. I thew away a bunch of stuff that was rusted or water damaged. Hopefully tomorrow morning I'll get the interior clean, so I can concentrate in cleaning the outside. I felt so bad when I open the boat. I took so much care of her. Being sick sucks, ...

Hi Terrence! I had the pleasure to visit Windward when Jeff came down with his family for the 2010 Pirate's Sail (I could be wrong, I need to check the photos). If you want to get together, just let me know, and we can work something out. Although I do like the C-26, and I do enjoy sailing my C-22 (...

Well, the old girl is in the boat yard. I'm working on a) making something to eat and b) gathering all the things I need to take over there. Nice boat yard. Electricity and water, and not too expensive (100 bucks for a month without using the lift). Next step is to make some sawhorses, and get the m...

Welcome!

You have more marbles than I do! I tow my boat with a v6 truck, and I have a trailer with brakes, and I still get the jitters!

Finally!

The girl is back home with me. I went to get it out of the property where she stayed while I was in Afghanistan. The boat was extremely dirty, and I'm glad I got most of the crud with the pressure washer. Tomorrow, I'm hauling her to the DIY boat yard, and I'm getting started to fix all that needs f...

Hi Terrence! Yes, I'm guilty of that too. Since late 2009 to early 2011, it was one crap storm after another. This last deployment didn't help neither, so I'm working on trying to get back to normal again. Have you gotten your 26 in the water yet? I was reading about you trying to sand the bottom pa...

Thanks! Hopefully this was my last time, 3 deployments is enough for a lifetime I think. I've been around the block once or twice. I pretty much re-built my C-22 since I bought her in 2006. I was lucky she was in good shape when I got her (at least on the surface, underneath the gelcoat is another s...

Hello, I haven't been around for a while, and I'm happy to see the forum still around. I haven't used my boat since 2009 when I got home from Iraq. It is in need of some care and love, and hopefully before the weather gets too bad, I will get it to the boat yard to get it going. I hope to get it in ...

Every man needs a place of seclusion from time to time. Where he can sort out his past, present and future. For some it's 18 holes of golf, others a H.D. at 100 mph will suffice. For me it's overhauling this old Chrysler... in short is there a price tag on someone's peace of mind? Mario... does thi...

In case you kill or hurt someone in the water.

In case your boat sinks.

In case someone hits your trailer with the boat and made a mess in the freeway.

In case the wheels in your trailer falls off while doing 65 mph.

In case sh*t happens?

We're not happy down here either, but let's keep it civil and non political tho. And thanks Gus, we do appreciate the support and passion from all. 8) I'm trying to keep the politics out of all this, but when Mr. Obama's plan is to 'go down there to make another speech' kinda pisses me off (a lot).

As long as the front ones are open, you are good. The problem is to install a pipe from front ones to back ones, sealing the compartment.

Really nice work! Looks really, really nice!

I don't have backing plates on mine either, But then there is not a lot of pressure on them either. On a 22 foot you can usally adjust the sheets by hand and seldom need to use the winches. mmm sorry, but yes, I needed the winches once or twice! I don't have backing plates on mine, I just used big ...
