Choyodo, even the newer Honda's come in at 107lbs for the 9.9 Xtra long shaft, 98lbs for the Long and 92lbs for the short shaft, but these are the new style models. They have a sort of rounded look to them. I'm betting you have the other model they make, which has a squared off look to it? These do ...

Ain't it great, old Murphy and his silly little law. I'm suprised you didn't just hoist up the main and do some sailing right in the middle of them, after all, parade procession or not, once your engine's off, your main's up, you've the right of way over other pleasure craft. Of course that w...

Wow, you have a light 4 stroke. Most 9.9's even the Honda 8 hp 4 strokes that are newer all weigh in around 100 pounds these days, according to the specs I read when I was shopping for a new motor. The lightest 4 stroke in the 8 hp range, which is what I was looking at, was 86lbs. and the heaviest w...

I recently upgraded my Chrysler 6hp motor to a Suzuki 8hp, and durring that process was also seriously considering a 4 stroke, would have gone that route, but just couldn't fit my budget. Anyway, what I learned durring the shopping process was that 4 strokes have a lot more torque and will put a lot...

Hey Ed, I do keep my Chrysler 22 up in Olympia, moored. Any time you think you may be going up there on a weekend, let me know, and we can see about meeting up. I don't actually live in Olympia, I live in Salem, my family just has some vacation property up there with a couple travel trailers on it, ...

So where in Portland do you keep her? Also, are you going to be mooring her, or trailering in and out? What did you change about the tiller? I've been thinking about shortining the tiller and then putting a tiller extension with a universal on instead (that dang tiller is just so long, you can't sit...

OK, I want to know how you figured out your hull speed. I went to a page once that was supposed to figure out your hull speed, and I got a maximum hull speed of 6 knots....and that was cheeting, as I entered the Length over all of 22 feet, not the waterline length, which is less, 19 feet. Now I know...

Just curious, what is UNDER the paint? My Chrysler's interior isn't painted. It has a colored fiberglass gelcoat. If someone painted the interior of your boat, perhaps to match some new interior scheme, you may have a perfectly nice gelcoat hidden beneath the paint, or maybe not, I don't know, just ...

I think I found that picture you were speaking of. It's from so far off though, that I really can't make out how and where it's mounted, plus it would be nice to see how it looks up, how much area it covers ect. Also, do you you have to take the bimini down to sail? Are there bimini's with adjustabl...

What goes where?
Well, how big is the hole forward of the mast? (you aren't refering to the hatch I hope) if it is that little hole JUST an inch or so in front of mast step, and just behind hatch cover, well that is where there should be a though deck plug for your mast lights. If there's no longer one there, you ca...

Definately will be easier to do out of the water.
I have Selah in the water (sailing season never ends in the Pac N.W., you just have to use your foulies  ) so I've gotta wait for the weather to get better before I can do it. I tried doing it on a clear day a few weeks ago, but it was so cold my hands weren't working well and the calk was way...

Hey, if you figure out something better than what I'm going to try, come dry weather, let me know....I'm just gonna take them out, and slather calk and reinsert.. Three of my windows leak. They are have original seals too. Right now I have a tarp over the cabin area of the boat. I'm really bad at do...

motor
Yeah, that's what I did. I didn't buy a brand new motor, but a new to me motor. It came with a warranty and all though. It's a 8hp Suzuki, 2 stroke oil injected (no mixing gas and oil) sail model.

Bimini for Chrysler 22
Hi, I want to get a bimini for my Chrylser 22. I was wondering if anyone out there who already has a bimini for their C22 could show me some pictures of how it looks, where it's installed, and tell me what size they got? I want to know what to expect before I actually buy one, and put it on. Thanks.

I don't have a 9.9, but I do have a Chrysler 6 hp. It is original equipment with my Chrysler 22, it has something wrong with it, it doesn't run reliably, but the lower end is probably fine. My dad thinks the engine problems could be related to the fact that one of the magnetos is very weak, but I re...
