Posting for someone unable to do so -
Has anyone ever found an aftermarket replacement set for these that fits in the same holes ? Or has anyone done a mod to their's to move to a similar set ?
Thanks !
Beau

Been there, done that !! Twice myself ! The second time, I rented an extension ladder from the local place, placed the feet against the rear of the forehatch, stood it up against the mast, and climbed close enough to snag it with a boat hook. The first time I used sections of PVC pipe with a hook ta...

Hey, Jeff, on that shower area, I have roughed in a second bulkhead even with the main salon bulkhead, and started building that area out. Going to tie the starboard chain plate into it so it matches the structure on the port side. Have a couple pics on the website - also found a pretty good paint m...

Welcome aboard ! Tell us some details about your C22 ! NoRush is right, a car battery is designed to start your car (minimal discharge), then charge back up to its normal state. When they get a longer drain, they may not recharge as well, or if you drain it far enough, at all. The deep cycle battery...

Hey, Try this, I found it in my marked web pages - Get a wax toilet bowl ring, pull the wax away from the center plastic piece, and mush it into a ball, make sure it is solid. Press that into the hull making a pancake about inch and a half thick, then press the tranducer halfway down into the center...

Keel Pin Answer
Betsy, you are apparently correct that the pin is not viewable without taking the brackets apart. Hope this isn't redundant info - For a diagram and material specs go to the lizards site at http://chryslersailing.lizards.net/ Click on manuals, then Chrysler C26 Owners Manual, then 1977 Detailed Draw...

I'd enjoy the details on how/where you made the inspection plate ! I'm betting it is on the lower side, my other thought was that the total ballast is listed at 2000#. In the Good Old Boat article where someone dug out the foam and lead from their 77 because of soaked foam, I think they had about 80...

Mine runs internally in the mast, comes out near the step, ending in a male PL-259 connector, and at the deck there is just a simple female PL-259 mounted on/thru the deck. Slip a small waterproof boot on the cable before you add the male connector. When the connectors are mated just slide the boot ...

Betsy, If you haven't seen it yet, you can find a tech spec page with a blowup diagram (but no mounting template) at: http://www.fultonperformance.com/instsht/F1851.pdf Note on the specs they rate it at 1550 pounds on the 1st layer of line, only rated at 700 pounds when full of line, so I guess use ...

Morning Jim, A lot of area under the vberth, mine had a small hatch there in the sole at the rear of the berth. Basically the entire bow is open under the vberth. From the outside draw a line from just above the boweye straight back to just before the forehatch and everything under the line to the v...

In Good Old Boat magazine Sep/Oct 2004 there is an article on working in this area. I think he also replaced the keel stiffeners you are pointing to.

Posted a couple of pics in a page called "Hull Damage" under the Post Katrina Section of our site at:
http://www.home.bellsouth.net/personalp ... P-sailtalk
Looks the hull was in worse shape than I thought, at least near the bow.
