This is very sad indeed. I ended up moving my home port from oconto to Stugeon Bay in search of better draft. I am hoping this pans out. Is there another port near by that has better depth? I have never looked on the charts on that side of Michigan. We are getting more rain all this week. The snow p...

You make a really good point about tacking. Typicly this isnt something I do because we are on long distace runs going up and down the bay in between ports. But considering I am also upgrading my ground takle and looking at installing a bow roller, I will have to look into this because tacking would...

I love running the asymetric spinnaker! Like you say, it is quite the rush with the amount of speed you can get in low wind. Thus far I have been running it with the tack afixed to a rigging track I have running down the centerline of my fordeck. I also use this rail to afix a "big boy" tr...

Anyone ever use or see one of these?

I am looking at getting one of these for Andante to make handling the cruzing spinnaker alittle easier. Anyone ever use or seen one of these in action? We would still be using the regular spinnaker the good old fashion way.

I must agree with EE, french press is the way to go. I still do gind my own beans and it does indeed make some noise. I can just picture a Corgis reaction to such and event. Winter is dragging on here in the midwest for sure. I check on Andante on at least a bi weekly basis due to the fact my cover ...

Bucs are a very Spam!!!!!!!! and very fast little boat. Great abb workout too. Best part is you can get them ready for launch in under 20 min solo. There is just somthing about those lines both in and out of the water.... Is summer here yet? (its 10 deg outside)

I had a set on but removed them because they attached to the sail cover. Having to keep the sail cover on seemed like it created too much drag and was unsightly. The crew and I are young and dont mind huffing the sails around, but the idea of the jacks was been tossed around a time or two. I would b...

yeah water level is becoming an issue on the great lakes. I ran aground the last three times I left my harbor in Oconto last fall. Sand bottom and easy to get out, but a pain when you cant even clear the breakwall without touching. I am looking at maybe heading for the deeper waters of Sturgeon Bay ...

Those Erickson 27's are big boats. Deffinatly on the high end of being trailerable. The fixed keel on the one I looked at made it look a little iffy to haul the 50 miles I would have had to tow it to get it back home because of the hight. In the end it didnt look like it would make it under the powe...
