Yeah, I hear ya about the frozen blocks! Rest assured, Destiny is a steady 44 degrees in her main state room! We open all cabinets and cubbards that have any access to water including the access to the block. We run the hot water heater too. That keeps the Lazerette dry and warm. Given the fresh wat...

Upload the photos there, then you can link to the photo from this site! Works well. I used to do it all the time. Now I host...

Actually we were in Destiny. My wife, my daughter, my mom and I. We crusie through a few times a year. Generally headed North to the San Jauns, Gulf Ilsands or maybe Victoria. We generally arrive an hour before slack and hang out so we can traverse in the small window of slack water. You are correct...

Well, Since we've been teased with all the wonderful sunny photos of Southern Florida, I have added 4 shots to my gallery. 3 of the Port of Everett where Destiny is birthed and one of the two ladies. Lady Jo and Lady Di! All work has stopped on Lady Di. Go figure! LOL! The last four on this page My ...

I can however get photos or compare set ups for and with you if you'd like. Unfortuantely both boats are buried in snow now. It may be a while before I get aboard either of...

Thanks Fran! Sounds like 6hp is pleanty assuming no foul weather. I know the shaft is pretty long so I may be OK. I mounted it last night. The lower cavitation plate is a couple of inches below the lowest point in the stern when the outboard bracket is down. I may be OK with some chop. If not, I'll ...

Bummer! Sorry to hear that.

A lot of outboards are perfectly good but folks don't drain the fuel out of the carb and fuel pump. The fuel turns into a mess over time. I've done that myself. That'll NEVER happen to me again! LOL! rebuilding little carbs is not my idea of a fun day!

Finally! An outboard!

After months of searching craigslist and looking at outboards, today I finally bought one! Today I found a 6hp X long shaft evinrude, 1986 model. It idles perfectly, runs smooth, and starts on the very first try!. Talk about pumping water? It almost made me have to go pee watching the stream off the...

I use a "battery tender" to maintain batteries that get little use. That works perfect! Make sure you get a charger that can step down as the battery is fully charged. Car, motorcycle, and boat batteries can be left for long periods. Usually around 35 bucks but can be had cheaper if you sh...

Thanks EE, Yes! That is exactly what we do and have done in the past. Icicle lights along the life lines, halyards to raise strings up. I'd pull them for and aft along the stays. I did not light the shrouds because it would detract from the cross. Well, in my opinion anyway. Then I'd wrap the boom a...
