Glad you made it back aboard! The 26 should great around DI, only a few feet draft for the sound side, and then crank the keel down for the Bay!

I know owners who have done just that, but before I did so I'd have a look at the sheaves to be sure the are not nicked up from the wire and in a state that would fray the line you replace with. And of course to be sure they will handle the size line you need. Maybe someone with personal experience ...

Hey, welcome aboard. Looks like none of the LS16 owners have wandered by yet. Don't know much about this model but have read some posts on the board about issues with the ply floor, and the gaskets/o rings on the bilge board setups. About all I can suggest (if you haven't already) is search for foru...

Darmah, from what I found on EE, there is a slight path for water as you say. (Sadly I used to have a great site of info and pics on EE's original post Katrina gutting and rebuild, but it got ate when Bellsouth dropped Personal Page storage areas.) Keeping in mind the 79's have a concrete and lead s...

Cool. Yes the original type rudder is a blade, and yours was an experiment by the owner I think. If I can find the link to the thread here I'll post it.

A pic of the original type is here

Hey darmah, did you buy Deb's Toy II ? a 1978 C26 that used to ply Lake Travis under that name with a blue rudder? If so that's not the standard rudder, which is a blade rudder.

Have you inspected that head area of the bilge for depth of water as opposed to the aft berth access? Which is the lower point of the hull when afloat, deepest point? I have pondered both location but have only had the hull on trailer so far. I'd go with the area at the back of the keel pocket - ac...

Re: Bilge pump location

Hello Darmah. On my 77 c26 witch I believe is in the stock configuration the bilge pump is located below the access hatch in the aft cabin, and the through hull is right by the sink drain on the port side. Rember to put a big arch in the line on the bulkhead behind the sink so water cannot come in ...

Clip On Towing Mirrors

Having tried several of the $30 clip/bungee strap types, and being completely disappointed, I went up in price and bought a pair of these for around $120. They clip over the window slot, and under the door, then there's a strap you tighten up http://products.cipausa.com/product/cipa-11650-door-mount...

I'd find a heated garage to put it in for a few days and see what happens and with the weight off the bunks too.. I had this issue with the Cal 21 due to the bunks being too narrow and for that reason all the load was on a narrow bunk edge depressing the hull. On that boat the oil canning never wen...

I'm not sure what he's including and what the price was. Boat is on a trailer without keel and keel pin in one pic; you can't remove the keel with the boat on the trailer, so why was it put back on the trailer without the keel re-installed ? Also no mention of mast, sails, rudder, etc. A nice set of...

great work. I hope I'm wrong, but you may have a problem with your sonar transducer. I thought I'd read the hulls are a honeycomb rather than solid? Considering the trailer, the outboard, and the furler - I would go for it myself, assuming the boat has no other major issues you've found. Of course when it comes to boats, I get a bit unsound judgement-wise, lol.

Hard to verbally describe how the keel fits in that pocket, but I'll try... Shouldn't be much effort at all to crank up - my first impression is that the keel head is jammed in the trunk by all the growth. That head part is designed to wedge in there a bit anyway - when the keel is all the way down ...
