Welcome aboard, Darren. I saw your "newly finished" sailboat on ebay while the auction was still active and placed it on my watch list. The auction photos were over exposed and there was little info listed about the boat itself. It seemed I remembered something peculiar that the seller sta...

I've been considering mounting my compass in the center of the lowest companionway board but that may be a dangerous spot since it would be necessary to step over the board to enter the cabin. I'm still mulling it over in my mind before I break out any power tools.

I'm certainly interested in your galley but noticed you don't want to ship it and I'm in the Southeast so dropping by isn't an option. I hope someone close to you shows up to put that galley to good use.

It's available at Ace Hardware and is available in gray or off white(between 3-8 dollars depending on length) but I've been unable to find info on its chemical properties. It comes in a roll that looks similar to a serpentine engine drive belt so you can use one 1/8 strip or the entire 1 inch roll d...

A dodge truck is a beautiful thing. I had a 1984 1 ton dually with a utility bed- awesome truck but my work needs changed so I sold that one, 2 1990 3/4 ton 15 passenger vans for business only, a 1980 15 passenger van that I learned to drive in that ran for many, many years, a 1976 15 passenger that...

Thanks for the info, certainly much appreciated. A friend and I were discussing trucks a while back and he told me that his Dad's Ford is a 3/4 ton truck that gets @ 28 mpg. That's better mileage than with an extended cab 1/2 ton V8 Ford and he's been very happy with the truck even though he downsiz...

Hi Alan. A happy day, indeed. I'm ready to continue on to the many steps I've prolonged for so long while searching for a mast and boom, etc. I now have a viable sailboat with which to invest time, sweat, and money instead of a hull sitting in a friend's yard. My list of wants or improvements is lon...

I've got a screen printing press that's large enough to handle a C26 logo. If you'd like to use it you're more than welcome to. I've never used it, renter left it behind, but it would be fun, informative, and useful to test it out, on something other than a new sail first, and hopefully help out a f...

towing and launching with a Dakota

A hearty WELCOME ABOARD and I myself and probably the most owners learn from the school of hard knocks and we try to avoid that on this site I know I have learned alot and others have as well. We will probably learn from you as well. Off topic, I know, but I noticed your Dakota in the storm damage ...

rope caulk for re-sealing portholes/windows?

I've used rope caulk to re-seal windows on camper trailers before. I remove the window, clean both mating surfaces thoroughly, install the rope caulk on the window, and re-install the window, and install the screws while tightening from the center out in several stages, much like you would do for va...

I filled my wish list FINALLY

I arrived back in town late last night with a mast, boom, mast step, and 75% complete standing rigging for my Chrysler 22. I've been looking for 3 years and finally the budget, timing, and parts availability all lined up perfectly. I'm sorry to say I went shopping outside our forum membership but di...

mast, boom, step, and standing rigging for a Chrysler 22

I'm looking for a mast, boom, mast step, and standing rigging for my 1975 Chrysler 22. My first choice would be Chrysler Original Equipment but will also consider anything that will make a suitable replacement. Mast length is 26'8" and the mast protrusion measurements are 3 5/8" x 5 1'8&qu...

Congrats! Here's to smooth sailing from here on. As I understand it, the state of Mass. requires a "rubbing" of the HIN number on every boat's transfer of ownership. I'd never even heard of the practice until last March.

Wow. I'm sorry to hear about your list of issues. You could have really gotten stuck in an awkward position by the authorities. Luckily you dealt with a reasonable sort of enforcement officials, could've gone either way. I'm surprised the ownership problems weren't fully disclosed before, or at the ...

I was scheduled to go down and buy the mast, boom, step, and rigging from A F at the non-profit organization but my dog got pretty sick and the vet bill wiped out the mast fund so I cancelled. I'm glad to know the boat will be riding the waves again though. Everything happens for a reason. The post ...

Chrysler C 26 for sale on CL in St Augustine, Fl. $2000

I noticed a swing keel C 26 for sale on craigslist.org in St. Augustine, FL. The year model is not listed in the ad. The starting price was $5000 but they've dropped it to $2000. This sounds like it might be a deal. She appeared to be in good working order from what I could see in the 4 photos shown...
