I am just a beginner...a 61 year old beginner...and I have gleaned a lot of helpful information. Thanks to everyone on the Forum. I be...

Brian, Yes, my wife and I are life long Kenosha residents...we now live on the south side of town about 1.5 miles west of the lake...17th ave and 79th st. The main problem here is that there is no boat launch for trailer sailor type boats....our local boat ramp is inland of a fixed bridge...BUMMER !!!

Simmons Co. moved out of Kenosha around 1959 or 1960 and moved to Munster, Indiana if my memory is right. My best friend at the time had to move away because his father was a draftsman for Simmons. Our local libraries here in Kenosha are all named Simmons, but I am not sure if they are named after t...

I saw the Rhodes 22 at the Chicago StrictlySail this past year. It looked very nice...The owners of the company were also very gracious...The whole package goes for around $56,000 I think. They have a very unique approach to their business. Also check out this series of videos on Youtube....http://w...

Tony, I took off all my stanchions and stern push pit and bow pulpit. Next I cut three, two by four lumber and ran them length wise from the companionway wash boards to the aft pushpit mounts and center of transom. I attached the lumber to the top wash board by hanging a 6 inch piece of aluminum ang...

Matt...the pipe with pipe cap houses the nylon/teflon rod that is supposed to apply side pressure to the keel so it doesn't slop around while sailing. I have read that you are supposed to tighten the pipe cap to increases pressure against the side of the keel. You should be able to see the rod proje...

My wife "forced" me to buy the C22. She said the Newport 16 was just too small. We will stop and say hello if we get up there on a weekend.

We live in Kenosha but like to eat at various restaurants in Racine.
The Chancery is real good there...seems to be better than the one in Kenosha.

That explains why I couldn't see a motor or mount when I saw your boat on the 17th at the Marina.

Looks good and it probably makes you feel good when you see your idea come to fruition...

How about the Torqeedo Cruise 2.0 for a C22???

Is any one using the Torqeedo Cruise 2.0 on their C22? It is rated at 6 HP equivalent and they say it can be used on up to a 6000 LB displacement hull. Price is competitive too...about $2500 new.
