Thank you for the reply. Actually those holes aren't on the rubber but below it - I mistyped. I used plain old lucite/plexi, the original panes were 3/8" so I kept the same thickness. I did reuse the frames, as well as the original inserts as they were pliable still. Was tempted to route/recess...

Weep Holes/Rub Rail/Toe Rail

Got new lexan in te deadlights, and now they don't leak but - Need help with the weep holes on the rubber rub rail - where do those drain water from ? Do they help clear water from under where the toe rail meets the deck? On my C26 a previous owner spread some sort of roofing-type sealant all along ...

Same here. I think the blade would be too bouyant to drag back underwater and line back up. Mine is out of the water with the rudder off if you'd like closeup pics of the assembly. Why do we use rope anyway ? Seems stainless cable lead thru a cam cleat on the tiller would sure last longer. I've also...

2 lines attach to the eyelets on the bridles - One is a line from the eyelet to the end of the gin pole (Boom) The other is a line from the eyelet to the padeye that is about 6 feet up the mast. The effect is that when the mast is laid down it is acting as a very long boom, and the gin pole (boom) a...

If you don't get any helpful "bites" from the group, contact dave@hurrikain.com or go to his site at www.hurrikain.com, and you should be able to purchase an original factory one. If not he can likely point you to one. Another great resource I have found for Chrysler outboard parts, advice...

been there, done this (except i was on the water)...rent a 30+ foot extending ladder from the rental store, place the foot around the forehatch , leaning it on the mast, extend it, and it should get you close enough to use a boat hook to snag it... I tied the jib halyard to the top rung of the ladde...

Most of the Katrina boats on Ebay are being auctioned as they were salvaged, including sails, and whatever else...so far nearly all I've seen are located in Gulfport, and most have been by Ebay Seller "USAuctions"

which thickness did you get ? I'm still waffling over that..I have a fair amount of slop between my rails and the cabin (enough that Katrina lifted one side of the hatch loose, lucky the other side held) so I'm thinking of going thick enough to take care of that..

good luck..

I have same problem on my C26...am considering trying a thin phenolic strip laminated to the cabin top in that area...

maybe take a look at:

http://www.mcmaster.com/

search for "phenolic", and then choose "phenolic plywood" from the results.

We just returned from our first trip down to Bonfouca Marina, and Emergency Exit seems okay. you've got the idea... if single-handing the boat, sit about midships, and practice a routine of pushing the tiller, and as the bow comes into the wind (and the boom begins to move) squat and duck under it, pivoting on your feet, and scooting your rear end to the far rail . with good timing you'll b...
