So what's wrong with the boat that you are selling her? And what needs to be fixed?

I don't suppose you have a trailer?

Ahhh to live in a place where jumping in the water to clean the boat doesn't require a thick wetsuit or drysuit. :D I used West Marine's Bottom Pro and that stuff was lame. Growth happened quite fast. Now I'm going to pull the boat out and put on some Petit Trinidad SR. This stuff, I am told, will d...

I'm not sure what rebedding the toe rail would change. Now I assume the watter your are talking about is accumulating in the gunnels near the rear of the boat, about a foot or two from the stern. Mine does that too, but I'm not sure what rebedding the toe rail would do to help it. I just clean the g...

IF it's anything like the one on my 22 I'd see if I could just get it sandblasted and then primed. Mine has a built in clutch so you crank the keel up, crank the keel down, unlike the one I had on my Venture 17 which you crank up and for letting down it was a real knuckle knocker as you just release...

The Chrysler 22's original "optional" equipment included a Chrysler 6Hp Sail model outboard. It was a long shaft. A 5hp motor should work ok as well. I'd recomend a long shaft over a short shaft. I personally prefer an 8hp extra long shaft on my Chrysler 22 as there are some serious curren...

WOW! ONLY $700, and the boat's complete (shy of a trailer) I AM GREEN WITH ENVY! So far as lowering and raising the mast goes, you use the gin-pole method. The boom comes off and there should be a pin that you put in the base of the mast and attach the boom with. If you are going to have t...

Nice article. Do you have any pictures of your boat with the furler on? Maybe some pic's of how it's set up?

How does having a roller furler change the procedure for raising the mast, or does it?

A fun weekend Cruise

Just got back yesterday from a fun opening day cruise with my local sailing club, and hosted by the Olympia Yacht Club. It was so much fun, we had an opening day parade of boats, and then a cruise out to Olympia Yacht Club's outstation, Island Home. There were lots of beautiful boats all rafted up t...

My hunch is that the boat is set up for a spinnaker, and the additional clutches and blocks are for the spinnaker uphaul and the topping lift and forguy. Or perhaps they had a dousing sock, and so there's a control line to raise the sock and one to lower. My family used to have an O'day, a 15' daysa...

Lines Led aft ideas for Chrysler 22

I've got a '77 C22 and I'd like to lead the lines for the foresail and mainsail halyards forward to the cockpit. I have a pop-top which changes the amount of usable space to an extent. I had the same experience when I bought my C22. When I hauled her out there was a whole lot of junk on the bottom, probably over 100 pounds worth of mussles alone. The inside was equally filthy, with rust stains, mildew, and general crud. I had to redo all of the cushions as well as the fabric was a...

I'm not sure if the 26 is like my 22, but with mine, the lines got bound, I had to take the cheeks off and rerun the lines. Wasn't too hard to do. I noted that it's easy to get the ropes in a bind if you move the rudder up and down manually rather than using the lines, so when you do want to move it...

I have recently replaced my motor (when I bought the boat, it still had original Chrysler 6hp, but it had problems) I got a Suzuki Sail 8hp, it moves the boat along at hull speed at 3/4 throttle. Keep in mind, more power won't make you move faster, it will dig the stern d...
