thanks for identifying a supplier of parts (Ruddercraft). As a suggestion, would it be possible to have a section that identifies suppliers of parts that can be used on Chrysler boats? thanks

opened up the crack with a Dremmel today. No evidence of any rot. Appears to have been sealed with paint soon after crack. Probably a mast stepping mishap. Going to seal it up with some marine epoxy putty mix for crack repair.

It's going in a slip for 3 months this summer. I'll try some spray enamel followed by bottom paint for this rudder touch-up. The hull bottom seems good. thanks

thank you, thank you, thank you for the links to great information. Mine is a smaller crack than those shown and had been sealed with paint so I don't suspect any serious water intrusion or rot. The metal "hook" was very secure and didn't move. Screws were secure and came out with no trace...

mast base cracked - need how to repair help

In working over the C22 I bought last fall and have not yet sailed I found a crack in the fiberglass around the mast base/step. Crack runs from the starboard aft corner where the base meets the cabin roof, vertically to the top corner of the step, then horizontally forward just under the metal "...

minor rudder board repair questions

so my last fall C22 purchase had a few small cracks in the trailing edge of the rudder probably from hitting a prop. I've sanded it down along with some blister spots nearby. I intend to patch up the edge with a West System 101 Handy Repair Pack. Since this is always below water I'm only concerned a...

thanks for that photo. I have a "bellows" like that on the other side. Think I'll move the batter forward also. Very nice "doors" to cabin. If you get time please share some pictures of the doors.

related question: my C22 has an opening to allow the outboard fuel line to pass through to the area under the starboard seat. Gas tanks sits in a plastic tub under this seat opening. I don't like this arrangement as gas fumes can be inside the boat. The battery is in the compartment designed for the...

my question is "what are they for?" I think "looks". Mine are on the outside so it looks like they are to keep something from entering the boat. My power boat scuppers have a flap to prevent water from entering which makes sense.

great photos and great work. re the half moon shape, I'd speculate from my experience doing design engineering in the decade these boats were made that it's the common practice of using large radius edges wherever possible to minimize stress cracking of either the plate or the cutout. A square plate...

I bought a 14' aluminum boat, trailer, motor from Rawhide 2+ years ago. Great outfit to buy from, totally honest and above board. I'll have my 22' in a slip in Ellison Bay this summer. Bought it locally late last fall and haven't had it in water yet. Plan to sail northern Green Bay & Death's Door.

FYI - the 2 in New London didn't sell and have been re-listed at lower prices. The seller is Rawhide, a boys camp founded by former Packer QB Brett Starr. I bought a small aluminum fishing boat, motor, trailer from them 2 years ago. A very honest seller I would not hesitate to buy from again.

it does say that. But if you look at the pictures it shows a "non-360". If you go to the Coast Guard website you should find a place you can send questions. I've done it. You'll get specific answers to specific questions.

thanks for info(s). I'm kinda looking for actual dimensions (X by Y by Z feet) of a 90 or smaller so I can compare to several on Ebay. I'm most not sure of the proper "height". How much "clearance" from deck to bottom of sail is best? This is for C22 I bought this fall with mast ...

c22 working jib size?

what would be ideal dimensions for a "working jib" for a C22 that can be handled from cockpit. Looking for the best size that would be ideal for solo sailing on Great Lakes/Green Bay. Also sources for reasonable priced good sails? thanks

All interesting to me as a new C22 owner who bought late this fall and haven't sailed it yet. My boat came with a 110 and a 150 foresail. Will I need something smaller than the 110. i'm a rank beginner to sailing. thanks

If referring to the center aft compartment behind rudder shaft - NO. Mine is handy and I had an empty 20# (BBQ size) tank. Tried it. No go. Opening is about 1/2-3/4" to narrow and compartment isn't deep enough to be upright. I don't think those tanks work laid on side. With some medium modifica...

ropes from bow?

I purchased a C22 2 weeks ago so trying to figure a few things out. Your videos a big help. What's the purpose of the two ropes you have attached to the bow pulpit and lead back along each side (not the safety rail). Thanks
