Scott, What do you consider reasonable $? I'm in the mfg business and we do a lot of S/S work. I made my brackets and could make plenty more(preferably without holes). But even if I sold them at my cost they would not be inexpensive. Of course economy of scale is the key, if we needed 50 sets I coul...

I replaced my originals 2 years ago and hung on to them. But I tossed them out about a month ago as I couldn't think of a reason to keep them. It was very clear that Chrysler didn't use a jig to locate the holes on the brackets. It looks as though they were drilled in place by hand. The hole p...

Tim, Here is a link to a photo page of my c22. You can see the brackets I made, might be a tad overbuilt but I'm happy how they turned out. I welded in studs rather than using bolts. That eliminated 10 extra places to leak. I can provide a drawing too, but it would be nearly identical to the one pos...

I always was a big fan of Manuals, but that is probably because I was driving a Fiat 850 Spider, then an MGB, then an Rx7, then a Renault Alliance, then another Rx7.. 8) Only two thoughts that come to mind for me is on the ramp you don't have "park" like in an auto, so you have to be extr...

Thanks for the write up and photos/videos! I really enjoyed them. I love the apostles but haven't had the chance to get the c22 up there yet. Maybe next year. Another fun trip on my list would be to tow up to Grand Portage and sail around Isle Royal.

I might try to head up for a day. My season hasn't even started yet :( . The c22 is still in storage and I don't know if I want to get it out. I would hate to have to re winterize it for just one sail. But I could bring up the Mutt, its still a chrysler. This is our first year with a child (she is 1...

The keel trunk stays the same width all the way back, but the height of the trunk follows the shape of the keel (you can make out the shape from the inside of the boat). When I did my keel bracket I was surprised how high I had to raise the boat to get the keel out. That thing is way up there! It lo...

If you have an old laptop, OpenCPN is free. Electronic charts are free from NOAA, in your choice of two formats. You'll need a gps puck (about $30 on ebay). Optionally, for cockpit use I added a IMO USB screen (ebay $50) and a small bluetooth touchpad/keybad which resembles a blackberry (ebay $20)....

I'm glad to get feedback from you guys. I was on the fence about a jib bag and I think it will be a must have. A furler is also on my wish list but it has been down near the bottom since we have always been trailer sailing. I just got a good deal on a slip for the rest of the season so out comes the...

You know your a Chrysler geek when...

I was searching online for a sail cover and possibly a jib bag, and got really excited when I found this page.

Looks like a 22 to me! I might have to buy from these guys just on principal.

Bottom Paint

Hello everyone. I trying to be proactive this year and get some work done on the boat before the sailing season kicks off. I pulled the keel a few weeks back and will be making a new brackets/pin assembly. With that off, it is time to do the bottom paint. I'm looking for advice on what kind of paint...

Scott, Well done. I'm planning on doing something similar before I put the boat away for winter. I like having the mast up high for the 'tent' effect with the tarp. Last year I used a hodgepodge of wood scraps to elevate the mast. But I like the idea of a more permanent fix. I have a saildrive so pi...

I second this request. I have been meaning to add a topping lift too but haven't got around to it. It would be nice to have one while single handing. In never fails, I lock the tiller, run up to the mast to drop the main, then remember I hadn't hooked the boom up to the back stay. Run back, hook it ...

It looks like I'm not going to make it. I have some time free tomorrow, but not enough to pull off the 4hr round trip drive and have any time left on the water.

Let's be sure to start planning next year's rally soon! I don't want to miss it.

Have a nice sail tomorrow!
