Chrysler script

I was wondering if anyone could send me a high res photo of just the script Chrysler logo at the stern, port and starboard, of a C26. Windwalker had been repainted in the past and I would like to replace the script. So much the better if the hull is red. I not what color is the logo on a red hull, I...

Cap'n. The truck actually downshifts when the break lights go on (if the RPM is not too high). I was surprised the first time it happened and called Toyota. Its a feature of the towing package for the truck. Very neat and very safe. Saves a lot on the breaks when towing over the Rockies!

I used a 2005 Tundra to tow. my C 26 2500 miles in 2007. I would recommend Toyota to everyone. The newer Tacomas are now the size of my older tundra with the same towing capacity. The truck tows very smoothly and a lot of the computer controlled features became apparent ONLY when towing. I particula...

Welcome back Billy. We pulled last weekend in the rain. The lake was so low the trailer wheels were off the ramp and my truck could not get Windwalker onto the ramp without a tow from Gary. Had to go over about a 6 inch ridge onto the concrete with the trailer wheels. That will teach me to pull soon...

I have purchased several small items, small blocks and a mast plate. I had no issues with the site, the merchandise was delivered promptly and the quality seams very good. I am considering their stainless steel single blocks for halyard turning blocks. The reviews from Practical Sailor are very good...

Jimbo, Third party stays? I assume you mean standing rigging. If so you can get them made to order. I would recommend turnbuckles, even though I don't adjust Windwalker's often. Wire rope, especially new, can stretch slightly over time, thermal expansion, no need to measure your new standing rigging...

Laser 1) I can get Laser parts anytime, new or used. True, but the Laser is a one-design boat so parts may not be the most cost effective. As a one-design boat, any modifications you do may invalidate the design rules. Not a problem if you just want a fun fast day-sailor, but you may take a hit on r...

Why not both long & short sleeves? The admiral would like long sleeves while I, the lowly captain would like short. Polos would also get my vote.

As well on mine, 78 C26.

They changed the C26 portlight style from 78 to 79. If I have my druthers, I like the 79 style.

Nope. It may be overkill, 1/8" 7X19 SS breaking load = 1600 lbs, 1/8" Amsteel average strength = 2500 lbs (4000 lbs for 5/32), but I can splice it myself, I can splice it to a 3/8" double braid (http://www.l-36.com/halyard_splice.php) to run through the rope clutch, it will fit in the...

Amsteel for wire rope halyards?

One of my projects this fall for WindWalker to lead the halyards back to the cockpit. Since the jib halyard is too short to my liking, both the main and jib halyard could be extended several feet and both are the same length, I thought I might as well replace the wire halyards and lengthen them whil...

If the spots are indeed rust, soak the affected area in a 5% solution of oxalic acid dissolved in hot water. Follow this with a 2% solution of hydrochloric acid in warm water and, finally, rinse the spot well with clear water. Rust is red to brown in color. Wear gloves, eye protection and old clothes.

Alan,

I understand, I use to scuba in Deception Pass, and ALWAYS at slack tide (although I know someone who claimed the spear fishing was better during flood).

I had my hands full at the time and if I had a video camera it would probably be at the bottom of the lake!

It's a date Billy, the Capt'n describded it as "exciting", but she was being kind. My son, who was in the main cabin at the time, had the largest eyes I had ever seen on him before, he's 29.

It was indeed interesting.

DITTO! The first time Windwalker got wet I found a couple of leaks (broken through-hull fitting for the swing keel cable) that were NOT apperent on the hard. Go someplace close, float her, check her AND THEN HAVE FUN!
