Thanks for the tip, I'll give that company a try.

I'm assuming the rail can't be reshaped, I'll give it try once I get the rail off the boat, but it is beat pretty bad. I'll let you know how it turns out.

Actually less then a foot is damaged beyond usability. Maybe cutting out the damaged section and move the rear section forward to cover the gap. Attached is a photo of the damage. The boat tried to roll onto the slip side. The scratch marks are made by the cleat on the slip, this is what caused the ...

Toerail source needed

Does anyone have a source of aluminum toerail for a 78 Chrysler 26. We had a windstorm up here last week the the bowlines parted (I had two on both sides!) and the boat blew up against the slip on the starboard side and peeled up about a four foot section about even with the mast. Must have been qui...

Congrats!

As most of us here know, you will love her!

Check the keel pin when you check the cable. You have to have it out of the water anyhow, so be safe.

C22 Headsail Tack Shackle Question

Oops!, Put this in the wrong place initially. Hopefully putting it here will generate a response. I have been noticing that my new-to-me 78 Chrysler 26 headsail tack shackle is mounted on a pennant about 1 foot long. This keeps the head sail off the deck and allows me to see under it, HOWEVER, I hav...

C22 Headsail Tack Shackle Question

:?: I have been noticing that my new-to-me 78 Chrysler 26 headsail tack shackle is mounted on a steel cable about 1 foot long. This keeps the head sail off the deck and allows me to see under it, HOWEVER, I have also noted that the head of the sail is about 2 feet from the masthead (I think a 135 Ge...

Powder coat is a process where a finely divided plastic is electrostaticly charged while going through a gun and sprayed onto something (a lead keel) that has an opposite charge incused onto it. The plastic power sticks to the object because of opposite charges and the whole thing is baked in an ove...

Displacement

Displacement is the weight of the water the boat displaces when it is floating. This will be the weight of the boat. So, displacement is the weight of the boat….stripped. It does not include any equipment, stores, sails, etc., all that is extra. Not sure on a Chrysler 22, but my 26 has a displacemen...

Tiller Slop

Finally, after all the heat and light air over the summer we got a cool day with good winds on a day I was able to get to the boat (Chrysler 26)! Sailed well in 10+ knots… however. I noticed some slop in the tiller/rudder response, enough to bother me. Part of it was in the tiller bracket to rudder ...

Seafit vents

Thanks Devin,

I had been considering another manufacturer of the same thing. I would like to replace them with something closer to the origional. Hoping someone would have a source for them. I found a 4" but not a 3".

Thanks for the suggestion. It's nice to know that they would work.

If and when I design the sliding galley, (probably a sure bet, I can't resist a challenge) I will be happy to share the plans/photos will all who would like a copy. Rear "berth"?

I am planning winter projects for my Chrysler 26. Nobody on my crew likes to sleep in the rear berth because of claustrophobia. The previous owner was going to put the galley on slides to side it back into the port side of the berth when not in use. I would appreciate any suggestions, photos of what...

Replacement Louvered Vents?? - HELP

I hae been looking for replacement louvered vents for my Chrysler 26 for both the cockpit scuppers and the transom drains. My boat currently has one origional and three holes. I have found all sorts of stainless vents, screen and holes, but no louvered. I have found 4" louvered but not 3"....

Internet tubing source.

If you need small quantities of tubing try this link;

http://www.onlinemetals.com/

I have replaced the mast spreaders, bought stainless plate for stantion backing, square tubing for the trailer and other iteims. Very good service. You don't have to compromise material because of small quantities.

Trailer Measurements

Hey EE, I have a trailer sitting in my yard so would be glad to get you measurements/photos. Won't do much sailing this weekend as my 3rd mate (dachshund) is ill and my first mate won’t leave her. Be careful to get the wheels under the right spot of the boat. My tongue weight is several 100 lbs too ...

Does anyboby know if the hull VIN number and the sail number are related, i.e. can the sail number be found in the hull number? The hull VIN on my 26' is CBC50223M78A and the sail number 549. This seems correct by the questions asked and answered in various messages, but also seam unrelated to each ...

Does anybody out there have documentation for the winches on a Chrysler 26? I think they are Barlow #16. Barlow went out of business over a decade ago. I am looking for manuals, service bulletins, etc.

Rudder replacement, C26

Hello Nathen, The only way with the boat in the watter is if you can hold your breath, or have scuba gear. A single bolt holds the rudder blade to the post and its can be removed in the water, but only if you are in the water. I also have to replace the rope on the rudder but will haul it to do it, ...
