My 22has a Squatty Shakespeare mounted atop the mast and I ran LMR-400 to it. Not that our application is so long you would need.it, I just wanted as little loss as possible coming from and going to the antenna. The Squatty. Has only 3dB of gain, so it's pattern gives me good coverage even close in....

Nope, you will need a new transducer for the new gauge. Datamarine is ancient in the boat electronics world. They've been out of business for a number of years, but there is a small servicing company that bought up all the spare parts and does some repair/replacement. But why? Unless you just gotta ...

Another fabulous video, Bill! I'll add that you can get powdered Teflon that mixes nicely with epoxy. Used it on my tabs and the sides of the companion way where the tabs travel. The more you sand it, the slicker it gets. Since the teak hold downs cover it, uv discoloration is not an issue. Again, g...

Momma always said, "If you don't have something nice to say..."

I chose to slightly modify that with "If you don't have something smart to say..."

I shot you a PM if the boat is still available.

Thanks!

I've used a lot of product from Oznium.com. In fact, I recently installed the indirect "mood lighting" in the form of strip LEDs and pots as dimmers. They sell just the thing, not dirt cheap, but less that what you might expect from some of the "marine" vendors. Then too, you can...

Very nice, Richard! Some of those LEDs have a very large voltage range, so bumping up to 12 volts would not be a problem.

I have not mounted mine yet, Bill, but was thinking along the same lines as you. I'm also strongly considering even further forward under the v-berth, under the bottom of the storage area. Even less chance of the keel bothering the pattern, though I don't think that would be much of an issue either ...

Did you hang them on the outside of the toerail? Where are the solar collectors mounted? Post a shot in the daylight showing your set-up.

Its all just plumbing at a sub-atomic level. Wish we were closer, not that it's difficult, just doesn't lend itself to aural description. A nice basic tutorial is in order here.
