Warm weather pics

I am sitting in Michigan it is 5 degrees with a wind chill of 8 below. I need to see some pictures of warm weather sailing to get thru until spring. These were taken in the Keys two years ago. http://i1027.photobucket.com/albums/y334/sailaway_C22/IMG_1833.jpg http://i1027.photobucket.com/albums/y334...

Saved a friend some $

We were in the Florida Keys over the holidays and I lost out on taking the C22 with us and took our 16' Four Winns power boat. Some friends were also in the Keys and rented a 30' sailboat for a day. We were not able to go with them which turned out to be a good thing. I had just finished pouring my ...

Lost the vote & no veto power

We are heading to the Florida Keys for Christmas break. I was out voted 4 to 1 on taking the C22 with us. My wife and all 3 boys want the powerboat. So poor Melo has to sit in the snow wrapped in tarps. My avitar was taken in the Keys 2 years ago. After spending a week at Lake Powell in Utah this su...

Welcome Mark,

Looks like your boat is in great condition. I am just down the shore from you in the St Joe area. You will love sailing on Lake Michigan.

What a deal!

I found this on craigslist. Looks like a great deal but to far away from Michigan for me. C22 with a trailer and motor for $676 or make an offer.

It is a drifter that is flying in my avatar. My dad ordered it from Hood sails back in the 70's for his C22. I think today it may be called an asymetrical spinnaker. It was in his attic next to the spinnaker you have now. There is a short line that I cleat off to one of the bow cleats. Then hoist it...

May have been the last sail of the season

The weather in Michigan was beautiful last weekend. Sunny and 80 degrees. Not alot of wind but weather like that on October 9th means boating. My wife, two of the boys and our neighbor headed out to Lake Michigan past the swinging railroad bridge built in 1904 and still being used. Between the piers...

Imagine my surprise. The boating season is winding down here in Michigan. I went to check on my boat today. As I was leaving I saw a sweet looking boat on the lift. I drove by to get a closer look and on the side was "Chrysler Yachts T-30". Wish I would have had my camera. The owner has ha...

What a great group we have on this forum.

I hope Jmckamey and Alanhod enjoy their new spinnakers. Both were honest and easy to deal with. Now any C22's near them will have to work hard to keep up with them on the water.

I know that count down feeling to BVI. Bareboat chartered thru the Moorings in Tortola 3 times. If you have the time make the crossing to Anegada it is worth the trip. If you do take a taxi to Loblolly Bay and spend the day on the beach and eat at the restaurant there. One of my favorite places is t...

Tom,

If yours can't be switched let me know. Once I have my new control in place and working I will be getting rid of the chrysler control. My new control is a little bigger in the cockpit but has a key start and choke.

Tom, I finally am getting around to putting on my new to me outboard. I am removing the original Chrysler control and noticed something that might work if your control is the same. One thing to think about before you are in Florida. If you are going to float it on the trailer you may need some type of extension for the tounge. I have an original Chyrsler trailer with about a 10' extension and have needed it every ramp I have used. If you are using a steep launch ramp or having...

Craigslist is the way to go. I just replaced my Chyrsler 10hp that burned up last fall. I found a 1996 Nissan 9.9 with electric start, charging system and remote controls that came off of a 26' sailboat (the owner wanted a 4 stroke) only used on Lake Michigan. Paid $600 for everything.
