I have trailered my C22 from Michigan to the Florida Keys and back about 3,300 miles round trip. I used a 2" rachet tie down at the bow. It was hooked to the bow deck cleat run down under the trailer and up the other side to the same deck cleat. Then put another at the stern. Make sure to tie a...

You can also tighten the lifelines by moving them up on the bow pulpit. Mine are actually almost to the top of the pulpit rail. The jib does hit it at times but has never been a problem. Having younger kids on board I like the lifelines higher all the way to the bow. The small line could be a toppin...

Parting out a 10 hp Chrysler sailor

My 10 hp sailor scored one cylinder and piston last summer when my impeller failed. Since parts a hard to find I decided it was time to look for something newer. I found a lightly used 9.9 Nissan 2 stroke with electric start and controls. I am not sure what year the Chrysler is but it is a 10 hp ele...

If I remember correctly the tall rig was offered as an option. When I was shopping for my C22 I looked at one that had the tall rig with a swing keel and the seller was the original owner. The boat had several soft spots on the deck and the trailer had been damaged in the boat yard so I passed on it.

My dad had a 26' S2 back in the early 1980's that had internal halyards. One downfall is that you cann't tie them off and they tended to clang when the boat rocked in port. Can be very annoying when trying to sleep.

Capt Scott- Do your lines rub on the deck between your turning blocks due to the curve of the deck?

Mario G- Do the jam cleats hold the halyards without slipping?

Scott, Is there a backing plate inside for the turning blocks? I am set for the extra lenghth on the halyards. I bought my boat last year and needed to replace the running rigging. The best way to run lines to cockpit?

I am planning on running my main and jib halyards to the cockpit on my C22. For those of you that have done this - what is the best set-up? I would like to put on rope clutches. Can both lines be run on the same side or should one be run on each side of the companionway hatch?
