West Marine stocks pieces like that. Clevis pin, I think 1/4 inch diameter, measure to see how long you need. Should come with a stainless ring to secure it.

My forestay is rigged to the front hole, and I use the back stay to adjust tension. I loosen the back stay when I raise the mast and use a halyard to bring the forestay up enough to connect, then tighten the back stay. My jib attaches to the back hole using a stainless tack shackle mounted to the bo...

Yep, used the original 6 screws. The hull was in great shape where the step was so I cleaned it off, layed the step on the base marked and drilled the six hole, then used marine rtv int he holes and to stick the base down. To mount the mast shoe to the upper hinge I layed the shoe on the top and fig...

I had thought about just glassing it over, but I had a piece of wood/glass missing that was about half the size of a golf ball. The strand fiberglass filler is absolutly rock hard after a few hours. Once it's painted I may put a piece of DIN rubber in there to cushion it when I lower the keel too far.

Fixing the hole in the bottom of the keel pocket

Like most of us, at one time my keel cable had broken and the keel had swung forward and smack the pocket. On mine it had crushed the front of the pocket and was letting water in. Finaly got it fixed and thought I'd share. Started with something like this: http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g33/N41EF...

I just replaced bpth Halyards. I know it says the Halyards are 35 foot of 3/8 but Mine were much longer. I replaced the fwd with 60 feet and my original was about 65 feet. I went longer on the main, about 85 feet to allow it to be used to reach the bow when I raise the mast.

Check eBay, I found a mast light with a built in deck light that shines down to light the deck. I wired mine with two wire, an anchor light on top, and a ground wire, so I now have 4 wires running through the mast. With each light on a seperate circuit, and since they should be on one at a time, cur...

Installing a mast hinge?

Do it, makes mast erection so much easier. Between the mast hinge and the two bridles I made from plans here make it so much easier. I did two up and downs today just because it was so easy. Word of warning, when you install the mast hinge, slack all of your rigging by about 5/8 inch, maybe a little...

As a guess, number 6 about an inch and a half long on bottom, and about an inch long on top. The bottom strip has the cup style washers on them. Stainless of course.

I'll take a picture and measure when I do the next section.

So, I replaced the nasty burlap with navy blue carpet and it makes the drink holders look nasty. One looks new, bright white, three are yellow and nasty. Has anyone found a source for something close? website? part number?

I don't think the temp would be an issue sitting in the water, the water temp would rarely be low enough to freeze. PVC doesn't fail in fracture mode until probably 20 below zero as a guess. If you straighten the rudder tube you could anneal it by heating it up evenly and allowing it to cool slowly....

A mast support that fits on the bow pulpit

Was a beautiful daytoday in Carolina, 76 and sunny, so I spent time outside with the boat. I built a wooden bracket to support the forward mast when trailering. The makings of another Grisham novel. You need to add a dead body found under the cockpit and dna evidence somewhere. Add a drunk lawyer, and a pot bellied sherrif who says "Boy, you gots a problem!" and you have a best seller.

They do make paint striper for fiberglass, car guys use it to not eat corvettes and such, also used in aviation. You might try a pressure washer first to know the big stuff off. I blasted mine and it took 2.3 of the blue paint off below the waterline.
