The good news is the C22 performs very well under the Genoa alone. If you get the bug to go for a sail before you get the new main then go for it. I had my 22 out that way many a time. I think it's one of the best ways to rig when the wind gets up a bit. Glad you at least got to motor around for a b...

You can get by with a tiller tammer and long enough jib sheets so you can rig the jib to the high side of the boat. I got more single handing time than without. Peice of cake. :D

The 8 hp johnyrude pushed my 5100lb Oday with fixed keel well beyond hull speed at 3/4 throttle , no problem. Now, I don't think I would want to push against an in coming tide with a head wind either, but more than efficient on an inland lake.

Terrence, If you are interested I have two motors up for sale, A 7.5 merc. and an 8.0 johnyrude with a charging output. Both run good and are extra long shafts with pull starts. The merc was on my 22 when you and I took her out and the johnyrude came on my O'Day. Give me a shout next time you are ov...

Just purchased a yamaha 9.9 extra long shaft, four stroke with electric start and the shifter on the tiller. The yamaha weighs in at 102 lbs and is the lightest four stroke in it's class. It is the high output model. The engine is a mid 2000 model with very little run time. Brand new they run about ...

Hey thepartydog,
You should go get her. You could make one nice boat from yours and that one, and not far from you at all.

BTW, the avitar pic of my boat is is when we were tied up at the Shilomar Yach Basin sometime during our visit to your cruising waters. Nice place.

Iv'e always heard that the difference between an ordeal and an adventure is attitude. Sounds like you had an adventure to me. The great thing about making mistakes is that, generally speaking, you only make that one once. Although I'm the poster boy for breaking that rule.

I'm in the same place. I recently took advantage of this weak market and bought an ODay 272 for less than 3,800 that in a healthy market would fetch over 7,500. This sword cuts both ways, I offered my C22 and trailer without motor to a gentalman for 1,400 a couple of days ago. I have the feeling I'l...

Iv'e seen electric wench's with back up manual handle at northern tool for around 60.00. The plastic case they are in would have to be modified somewhat, but they come with several feet of remote control cable and are rated for 1500lbs. If you pay attention to the wench you can hear it when it is al...

The C20 and the C26 are closer cousins as far as hull design goes. It's funny how the C22 is a totaly different beast. As far as predrilling goes, The ones I bought were not predrilled either. I fit them them, marked them, then drilled. I also had to do some final fit as well. You could drill one ho...

I did mine over gravel, not fun but can be done. You'll want to use some plywood to act as a skid plate. You will also want to use an engine hoist to manuver that thing around, it's a beast.
