Perhaps. If it were me, I'd measure the length and beam of the boat then find something close in dimensions. Find out where that boat's mast is located and I think you'd be close enough for government work. ETA: Of course, that is a very simplistic approach. the reality probably involves some consid...

Since you've already taken yours apart once I think it's safe to say that you know more about this than I do, but I remember reading somewhere that it has to do with more than just tension. I seem to recall that while we do have to have somewhere near the right tension one can also use that tension ...

Show me your stern rail, please.
I have this half-baked idea for the stern rail I want to create for Believer [/i]. I'm not sure whether I'll do it in SS or maybe painted conduit, since my plan would require some custom bending. Would you share photos of your stern rail for inspiration? Here's what I have in mind so far. I'd like i...

And the adventure begins ....
I spent the entire summer and fall preparing for and performing my student teaching. I did manage to steal away for three days on the lake with the LS-16 before one of the plywood chainplate braces broke loose. I neglected the C-22. However, this Friday, instead of battling hordes of rude and incons...

mcrandall gave such a close description that I'm not even going to bother typing it again. I too have been blessed. The divorce rate in the Bureau of Prisons is right around 75%. But we survived an entire career. My wife didn't know anything about my sailing dream until we'd been married about 10 y...

I think it's pretty cool that we actually have one in Alaska! Now the question begs, how many of those are active? I usually only see the same 10-20 names in the posts. That's pretty much the norm on my other forums also though. ETA: Hmm, let's see, we need some criteria. I'd say that to be consider...

Slip prices?
I'm considering putting Believer in a slip at a local state park next summer. The fee, for May 15th to October 31st is $550. Is that comparable to what you folks are paying? Especially skyking, since you're in PA?

I pulled my C-22 and trailer from Tampa FL to Williamsport PA using a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 with a 5.8L V-8 and factory tow package. Averaged 12 miles per gallon over the 1200 miles, which is just shy of the 14 mpg I got on the way down with the empty trailer. The Dodge didn't even act like it knew th...

I had planned for decades to name my boat Freehold [/i]. To be a Freeman who owned his own freehold, in Ireland of the 1800's, was the ultimate dream. But the Admiral stepped in and asserted rank. She does not believe the C-22 will be the last boat (wise beyond her years) and so it needed it's own n...

Now I usually use a 25 ft long 18,000 lb tow strap that was $26 at Tractor Supply. It is a lot easier to use and works just as well as the rigid extension. I'm trying to wrap my head around that idea. Is a shallow ramp still steep enough for the trailer to roll down it as you back up? What holds up...

Cap'n Scott - I'd like to order a couple of shirts. Are they available in a 3X? I'm in Weight Watchers, but it's not working THAT fast. Here's my specs: 3 C-22 shirts: One 3X (Tall if I can get it, I'll pay an extra $5 for this one) One 2X One XL all with the boat name - "Daydream Believer"...

Dude, I think you are missing the point. What you have are two small opportunities to share some WONDERFUL times. If this thing is paid off, and you don't NEED the money, take the kids sailing. String up some net-type life lines, slap some little pfd's on them, and let them get their sea-legs. They'...

A C-22 in New Zealand? Wow! Somebody made a Trans-Pac? From everything I've read, not likely. Or VERY daring. There has to be a story there. Even if it's just a container and shipped, think about it. Somebody from one of the greatest sailing countries in the world was impressed enough with our littl...
