The last time I saw something like this I threw a wild shot at it and wound up with a C-22 for $1012. I'm pretty certain I'd be headed for divorce court if I did that again, before Believer has even splashed yet.

But it is SO-o-o-o-o tempting!!

WAY COOL!! I haven't seen a news stand copy of Lats & Atts in many years. Is it still cool or has it become all about the latest and greatest hyper-expensive bleach bottle boats, like Cruising World?

With this one shining exception, it's not easy finding info on our beloved Chryslers, even on the internet.

A truly heartfelt thank you to all of those responsible for creating and maintaining this wonderful resource.

I had the idea of installing backing plates also. But my reason was a little different. I was thinking that if I used SS fittings and stanchions with backing plates I might be able to bring them up to a 36" height so that they might actually serve some purpose. With a little netting strung betw...

Bill, that's a wonderful job! After watching the slide show, I am am beginning to doubt that Believer [/i] will splash this season. A question for you. I loved the varnished plank reinforcement of where your keel winch is hung. Have you found it to be at all slippery going in and out of the cabin?

What a fantastic read. I am going to have to figure out a way to print this out so "the Admiral" can read it. She "humored" me and let me buy the Believer but she still thinks it's too much boat and doesn't understand the need for two of them.

I tore mine up when I was 45, training with my riot control team. Was sore and losing mobility and strength for over a year until one day I was fighting an inmate and completed the job. Equally ignorant here, but why not just contract a regular boat hauler to put it on a trailer with a cradle built for that purpose and carry it across the country? Is a container really going to save you that much money that it's worth the aggravation?

Hmmm, so there are drawbacks to having a tandem as well. Interesting. I do wish that it was built of "C" or "I" sectioned steel, rather than the box tube. Simply because it would be so much easier to deal with the wiring and repainting and such. But this is what I have. There mus...

The bunks on my trailer are 2x6's. To attach mine I fastened them to the front and the rear supports, then staked cinder block capstones over the center one until it bent to contact. The blocks weigh 40 lbs each. It took 6 on one bunk and 7 on the other to bend them down.

are they saying the capacity of the frame has been exceeded by the boat and that adding an axle won't help that ? I just cut and pasted the response he sent. I sent him the manufacturer's plate too, which rates the trailer at 3740 lbs. My biggest dissatisfaction was with his unequivocal and unquali...

I got THIS reply from one of the dealers. OBVIOUSLY this hoople is not someone I will be doing business with. Hello Mike, To sum it up, you should look for another trailer. The capacity has already been exceeded and the cost of a retrofit will out way the cost of a re-purchase of another trailer, wh...

Actually, I'm thinking of moving the boat forward. It's a little tongue heavy right now. So I'm hoping that once I get the front axle on it will be just about right. The I am going to have a local shop add a 4' to 6' tongue extension to the front.

My spring fever has resulted in a few photos being taken of the trailer/axle under Believer [/i] and an e-mail being sent to two different trailer parts houses to see what they come up with. It is my hope that they tell me the second axle can be added completely "bolt-on". But if not, mayb...

As far as a name goes ,,, I liked Chrysler Cluster. Seemed somehow appropriate.

Second choice would be the Chrysler Crewse.

And third would be Chrysler Collective. (We are the Borg. Resistance is futile.)

I made the decision to switch to Watauga Lake for two reasons. [1]The Cherokee Lake Sailing Club was "less than helpful" and the marina there was even less so. [2]I figured that Jeff's local knowledge might make it a more easily managed event for all. However, since I will most likely not ...
