Tough choice, but,,,

My wife is making me choose between a sailing vacation in TN to meet you guys or a vacation in KS to visit our grandson. It's a tough choice, but I'm afraid the monkey wins out over Watauga Lake guys. Maybe once I start teaching full-time I'll have the money to do more than one vacation a year. Of c...

Never thought about it, but this could qualify as a Valentine's Day gift, kind of. I know that you have probably never seen the television show "Clean Sweep". It on the Home & Garden Channel, HGTV. Kind of a neat concept. The hosts visit someone who's clutter is totally out of control....

So the way I'm reading this, if I don't have OEM sails, I can pretty much apply any sail number I choose and nobody would be any the wiser, unless it was their number.

Someone lending a little "sea creds" to the C-22. Very nice! I will be looking forward to future installments.

Please review previous posts on resizing photos though, to make the viewing even more pleasurable.

There is a morbid fascination among sailors with sunken boats, similar to the one amongst motorcyclists with videos of crashes. You don't want watch but you just can't help yourself.

Whereas, I, on the other hand, spent 23 years working with the absolute dregs of society to earn a pension that was designed to lose 1% per year to inflation. And that was before this president decided not to give federal employees or annuitants any pay raise for the last two years. I find myself wo...

I finished my hinged mast step. ..... The through hole at the forward end of the pivoting plate will be the attaching point for my new gin pole. Please bear in mind that I know nothing of what I am about to speak. Shouldn't there be something securing the front of the plate similar to the hinge pin...

Standing rigging

I am terrified of the answer to the second question but, like Ebenezeer and the third spirit, I have to ask. 1 - Has anybody ever replaced ALL of the standing rigging on their C-22/26? 2 - Scary, but how much did it cost? One of my backstays is broken. Can't be long before the second one joins it. S...

New Year's Day

It's a balmy 40 degrees here in NCPA. After I put a new wick in the kerosene heater I was bored so I finally got around to scraping the barnacles off of Believer's [/i] bottom. Well, got a start anyway. I did everything I could reach kneeling next to the trailer and I got the rudder. But somehow lyi...

That sounds fine to me. The list of possible attendees so far includes an LS-13, an LS16, a slew of C-22's, and a couple of C-26's.

Just remember when pricing shirts that I know at least two of us (Banshi and me) need a 3X and TALL would be nice.

Before you take it to the shop you might want to indicate where you want the holes drilled to attach the base to mast step on the deck. I don't see any holes in the center of the base. Also, I would make a trace of the base of your mast. Then the shop can fab a collar for the mast to fit into and pr...

I'm assuming you ordered the burgees to read right from both sides. Based upon that, I just put my check in the mail.

1 - C-22 hat ($15) and 2 - C-22 burgees ($20.50 each, $41), total $56. Right?

I'm in for two based on your old design, which is cool 'cause it will match my new hat. If my count so far is correct that's 6 or more, so we should be about $20.50 each, logo reading right on both sides. Way cool. And, of course, a little something for mariner for his time and trouble and s&h t...

Might I suggest a more environmentally responsible and cost-effective alternative? White oak will be 1/3 the price of teak or less, is more likely to come from sustainable forests, will look quite attractive, and with proper care will likely outlast the boat. Just a thought.
