Great post by the guy on the Mac 26. Really enjoyed reading it and very inspiring too. As to your question on the C22 and your desire to sail to far off places; I have no doubt the boat would go great under the right conditions. Iv'e had mine out in some rather rough conditions and she has always do...

Iv'e always heard that if you can see the back of the leaves from the wind blowing them you have a 10-15 mph wind. That's when I can't even think about anything but taking the boat out, Just ask my work buddies.

Keeps the keel from banging side to side and doing two things, driving you crazy when you are anchored down and trying to sleep, and more importantly, wearing the hole in the the keel into something that looks like an egg. I installed a new set up on mine when I did the keel and sealed everything up...

Welcome! I owned a C-20 for a while and really liked it. Don't think you could fine a larger cockpit on any boat. I used a Sears game fisher 5hp on mine and it worked very well. IMHO the C20 is a closer cousin to the C26 than the C-22 as far as hull, keel design and lack of flotation goes. BTW, you ...

Wouldn't it be easier to leave the rudder post in place and unbolt the rudder at the pivot bolt? This way you don't have to align the post assy. and you could do it in even more shallow water. You would still use the stick method mentioned before. Just a thought.

Cut it baby cut it, You will find the wood backing plate is encased in fiberglass and the wood is rotted. That's the reason the hardware has become loose. There's no getting around it, ya gotta replace the backing plate and the only way to have good access is to install access ports. Chrysler should...

It came with the support struts, all the mounting hardware and a cover with zipper. I can use it with the main reefed, I lay it down forward f...

Hey sn691, Is that Milington Lake? If so, I can remember when it was low like in your before pics back in the late 80's. We would go down something like three sets of ramps to get to the water. We use to wear out some Hobie cats back in the day.

Looks like some drilled another hole for the shackle and did not grind off the trashed edge where the old one pulled thru. Your cable wasn't breaking, it was being cut. That's a good find.
