Re: C26 May have found the leak
If you have bilge water after a rain or sailing in large chop you should check all portals , hand rails , hinges on hatches, wire penetrations at the mast and nav lites, winches, push pit and bow rails. I realize you have likely looked at most or all of these but any place a bolt goes through the de...

Re: Keel stuck up
Walterse If the winch is original (as it looks to be ) it winds up in one direction and lowers in the other. The weight of the keel should cause it to drop as you wind down when you stop winding the weight of the keel will cause a brake pad the squeeze the drum and stop it from spinning until you tu...

Re: New C-22 Owner! handling question
Sail22 Welcome to the forum! I think you will find maneuverability to be excellent at all speeds. The setup on the rudder works very well although you will want to make sure the down and up hauls on the rudder are rigged correctly. The rudder has a positive buoyancy and can be difficult to pull down...

ErBardy, The insert trim is common for boats and campers. A while back I built a teardrop camper and parts suppliers had several sizes and colors you can also go to amazon pvc trim insert, but they may not have the size you need. Tray camper parts and have the dimensions ready. I don’t think you wil...

Attabo15
Glad you found a replacement, you might try checking your wiring , it looks like it’s been in there awhile, it might be a bad connection or worn insulation. Let us know how it goes.

Re: C26 depth gauge replacement
If it’s just the lens that is bad it can be restored with polishing compound or even tooth paste. If you are mounting a new transducer several owners have mounted them directly to the inside of the hull on solid fiberglass with success. If you are interested, try searching the forum index for depth ...

Steve,
I don’t have a stantion but if your base is good you should be able to buy a used one from eBay or a new one of proper diameter and cut to length .
Hope you find what you are lookin for.

Sorry no one got back to you. I don’t check the various subject parts of the forum very often. Hopefullly you have already fixed the problem but if you haven’t you do not need to take the boat out to replace the cable. Diving on it with the keel down works fine.

Re: Big Leak - Vee Berth - Anchor Locker / Hull Deck joint? Toe Rail ?
DTeeSail I have an early C26 (sloped fore deck) and just moved the hawse pipe and installed an anchor windlass and anchor roller on the bow . It ‘s apparent that the two boats have some major differences in the construction but when I cut the deck for the new hawse pipe location the deck core was 1/...

Re: C26 May have found the leak
Attaboy15 Sounds like you have at least determined the water is coming in from below the water line, I suggest that you check all the through hulls. .If the boat is out of the water make sure you note where all of them are located and then find access on the inside to monitor when back in the water....

Re: Keel Cable Replace - On Trailer?
Hi, Cable replacement is a fairly easy fix. You didn’t say if your boat is a 22 or 26. The easiest way to do the fix on either boat would be to tie the keel up with a line around the hull holding the keel until you drop the boat in the water and the let the keel down slowly. Once the keel is down yo...

Wow, Sounds like you have quite a project! If all the items you listed are really leaks it sounds like you will be removing and rebedding all the fixtures on the deck plus the toe rail. Be sure to check the base of the compression post under the mast for rot, it is supported by wood down to the base...

On my Mac the pop top is a cut out on the slider so you have both the s...

Re: C26 May have found the leak
I may be mistaken but I don’t believe the area around the shoe gives any entry into the boat. The shoe is held on to the hull with bolts into nut type fasteners imbedded in the fiberglass . A possible place for leaks might be through various hull penetrations (through hulls ) or possibly the keel pe...

Erbardy Toe rails are something that has been discussed on this forum in the past . If you haven’t yet searched for it there is a lot of information on it. The toe rails are held on with screws so you will need to bed them. Also, once you pull the toe rail the deck is held on with screws which cause...

Prevent mast peg hole breakout on mast raising system
It seems that the breakout on the mast foot peg hole is not uncommon. If I read the mast raising instructions correctly they direct you to use the jib halyard to connect to the gin pole to raise the mast. If the halyard is tied off a bit too long or it stretches the pole may lean toward the bow at a...
