What bodies of water do you sail?

Just curious where does everyone sail? We tend to sail in Possession Sound Near Everett Wa. It is in the North end of Puget sound. We day sail a lot and do a lot of crabbing in this area! Our yearly vacation takes us North to the San Juan Islands and Gulf Islands. These trips find us in the Straight...

Re: What size anchor?

Another thing to consider is what type of rode you use. Rope, chain or a combo. If you can get 10' of chain at the anchor your holding power will go up! The more chain the merrier because of the weight of the chain. However on a 22'r any length of chain becomes a hassle to deal with. My 22's I alway...

Re: New unbelievable mast raising system

There are a lot of mast raising ideas here on this forum also! Poke around and various ideas from members here! I made a gin pole for the C22's and found it very useful and easy to use. Dedicated lines made stepping and unstepping my masts pretty quick and easy. Others here have even better ways! Th...

Just got back!

My bride and I spent the last two weeks cruising the San Juans and Gulf Islands aboard Destiny! We intentionally went after Labor Day to avoid crowds. This was a first trip ever going later in the year! We had our choices of anchorages, mooring buoys, and even had a great spot in front of the Empres...

Re: Man O War Main sheet routing

HI Kent!
Welcome to the forum!
If you go to our documents page and scroll down to the Man-o-war link you will find 1 document.
Download that doc by clicking on it. Once open scroll down to page 7 of 12 and look at figure 2.

That method offers 4:1 purchase and should work just fine for you!

Re: I am the new guy

Hi new guy!
Welcome to the forum!

If memory serves, the C22 weighs in around 3K lbs and I always used 1K for the trailer. There are many factors like gear and such that can change the numbers but that is what I used for my needs.

Again,
Welcome!

Re: Battery Suggestions

OK, here is my take on the battery for a C22. First I replaced ALL lighting with LED. I used a pretty standard car battery that I purchased from a shop that sells rejects and blems. I also added a solar panel and controller from Harbor Freight. The panel was always active when the boat not used. Thi...

Funny you mention the water staying outside! LOL! I personally have launched boats with the sole purpose of letting them sit at the doc for a couple of hours! The idea? Just to be sure she floats!

I've purchased two sets of sails from FXSails. The only reason I ordered the second set from them was I literally ha...
