I don't think a manufacturer would go the plywood route. I think they would want a higher quality look for prospective buyers flipping the cushions. I'm glad mine came from the PO that way because I had never seen it and it showed me a way to escape having new cushions done professionally. Something...

A question: the hatches I see on some of the pictures appear to have some teak across the topside of the hatch covers, is that some thing that was normal??
